I hope this warrants it's own thread :D

Ok, well I said that I was pretty bummed out when I got the call saying it was delayed for another two weeks, and that there was another one already in the showrooms.

But I got a phone call at about 9am. Thought meh, just someone calling me and I'll get back to them a bit later. But I listened to the messege after the ring...got dressed and was out the door before I even let the messege finnish :D. I haven't even eat any breakfast yet...I still haven't eaten anything as of 4 hours later:mrgreen:

BUT IT's HERE!!! :mrgreen::cool::D:w00t::banana::burnrubber::hump: :mouse: :cheers::hammer::clap::driving:

Here's the only pics I got right now, from cell phone. It's a nice day, but it's pretty wet on the roads from all the snow melting, so after I drove it home, she's all wet.

It was a bitter but sweet goodbye for the '06, I said my peaceful words..was a bit sentimental over it for a couple minutes, but I left with a big smile on my face:mrgreen:.

All I can say right now about this version of the car, handling/ride comfort/feel is that it's just different. I can't really explain at the moment, mostly because I am a bit bonkers over it right now. But when I get some good miles on it, I will give a good review over in the Post Your Car section.

This is FREAKING AWESOME.

I like the fact that you took a picture of the car in front of a clearly superior make's dealership sign. :D

I'll take your old one! Let me check my bank account...let's see...yep...ok, I'll give you $300 for it. -> (because I'm broke)

to be honnest...i like the old one better...

why did u sell it? just for fun or was it a 2year lease or something?

Don't mean to be harsh, but why bother trading in your 06? What was wrong with it? It was certainly better looking than the new one.

We shouldn't be encouraging this kind of bad behavior in car companies by buying this kind of blase crap.

It might not be blase crap to him, you know.

Congrats, Silverstar!

Congrats Silverstar! Too bad you didn't get it in time for some winter fun! :D

But didn't the old one have some kind of sentimental value to you since you sold your late father's car to buy it?

Congrats dude!
And do give us feedback when you have some time (after youve taken her for a proper ride) about how you think/feel it compares to the old one!

Nice colour choice, The style of the STI is really starting grow on me, Ok yeah its a hatch but it'll be more practical and usable in that form anyway. Enjoy it! I'm very jealous!

Silver,

If I were in your shoes right now, this would be me all freakin day:

^ You mean in his LA Gears, right? Those aren't just any shoes.

Congrats Silverstar!

Looks nice, have fun with it!

I for one like the looks of the new STi.

And I also tend to only keep cars about 24 months. Sometimes less. Nothing wrong with it...if I had my way I'd get a different car every year!

Steve

That's great to hear. :D

Oddly enough, my dealership sells both Nissan and Subaru.

You need to update your sig
Seriously: congrats! Post pictures, videos and impressions. I bet a lot of people here are curisou about it.

Thanks all for the replies, good or not!

I traded my '06 for a handful of reasons

1. The ride was getting harsh for me. I had back surgery a number of years ago, and over the winter it really got hard on my back. This suspension is a lot softer, but it didn't lose any of it's agility; so far as I can tell anyways :D
2. Cargo room. Not sure if it's because I've moved to Iowa or what, but I seem to be hauling a load more things around. Either engine parts, tools, boards, groceries ect...the cargo space in this is great.
3. Looks. I dunno what bit me, but it did. I was a bit iffy on the looks whjen I first saw it, but now I love the look of this car. Any skeptics that haven't seen it in person, pictures don't do it justice; this thing looks straight aggressive.
4. I had an urge. I just wanted to get the car, I woke up in the middle of the night after dreaming of '08s driving circles around me saying "buy me", "you know you want it". :D
**The 100 congrats**
Thanks so much, I've put about 60 on it today...this thing feels and drives so nice.

I did a /facepalm after I took the pictures and got them on my computer, will be a pretty funny picture to keep. But yeah, they definately have a bigger selection of Nissans there, but the service shop is very Subaru bias :D
