I work in Technical Support for 3 months now and absolutely hate it. People don't give you respect, are mean as hell if you can't fix their issue, and just plain stupid. Since I work in North America, that means things have to get done 5 minutes ago or else you're a fucking moron for not solving the issue in 2 minutes. I've had enough. Past couple of months have been shit, I feel like shit, too much shit happened. I've had it.

I want out of this world...no more.

Yah, technical support blows.
I used to work as Technical Support for Packard Bell. :x
Worst thing was, you got it from both sides, customers and management was constantly bitching at you.
I'd definitely quit your job, anything is better than that. You'd be happier working at McDonalds or something like that if things don't work out.

If you do have an inclination to do something about this (which I sure hope you don't), then I'd suggest you do things you always wanted to do before first. (You got nothing to lose right?)
For example if you always wanted to go Rio or something like that, then why not do that?
Hell, if you always wanted to drive an STI, why don't you come down to my place? :)

But seriously, I'd talk to a psychologist, a priest, anybody about this. (Even though it doesn't seem like it, it will help.)

At $36,500 CDN I need this job. I barely have money for myself as it is. Gotta love how expensive everything is these days. Every month I have close to $1200 in payments. Kinda hurts.

Talk to anybody?? Won't really help. Plus what happened in the family last week is still bothering me. Everything is blowing up in my face...

I'm not in control of my life, everybody else is though. That's the part that sucks.

I really hope I am understanding this incorrectly and you are not talking about the "ultimate choice.." But if so, Don't!!

My brother did it only a few weeks ago and man, it is not the decision! No one still knows exactly why he did it and it has totally messed up the family.

Shit always happens (I know) but things have a way of working out eventually. Just apply to every singel job add you see, and at some point you will get a better job.

Mischief:

Technical support does suck if you're getting yelled at all day long, can't see the fun in that either. I can't understand how you can get mad at someone on the other end of the phone, I wouldn't even have guts to call him something, looks like more and more people are brought up with no manners at all.

I agree with ESPNSTI, life can be quite expensive, BUT you don't need money for everything, try to save on the little things (maybe you already did), I know how it is to live with no money for normal things (not meaning the studentlife etc) but money doesn't make me happy now. Try to do some stuff that relaxes you, go fishing (I love fishing and sometimes I still do, not for the fish but just to relax) or go biking around some time, go watch people in the city/park, go for a go-kart ride, do something outrageous, something you always wanted but didn't do for the money.

Loads of people don't do it because money is the problem, but I believe you can do things without money with loads of fun too.

About the job, you should try applying for other jobs? Just do some, and see if they hire you, if you don't try it doesn't change :)

Heck, even if you're in moneyproblems, get rid of that car, get a smaller car or use Public Transport (if available) or use the bike or whatever. Save some money to do something you're gonna look forward to.

I go to rallys, maybe there are some at your place?

Update us.

24 years of bad luck and counting...I couldn't catch a break if I paid a million bucks.

No offence mmap, I've heard that "Shit always happens (I know) but things have a way of working out eventually" line a lot and it doesn't inspire me. The last few months have been especially rough.

Plus now that I think of it, I don't think I'll ever get to Britain or Europe for that matter.

Why not? Just come here, come to holland, you can drive my Beetle.

I know where you're coming from dude.
At 24 I had $500 to my name (that I had to spread out over 4 months), a shitty car from 1984, I hadn't had a job in two years, and I was very much depressed.
So (just as an FYI), things can get better.

Josty:

The car provides relief for me. Turn up the music and just drive, which is why I sometimes go out of town and try to hit 100 MPH with it. This is the cheapest car to insure. The smaller ones actually become more expensive to insure.

Why can't I come? Because I thought through this company that I could but because of politics and statistics, I think they will hold me back here and say that I can't move up in the company.

One thing that I want to do is actually illegal in this country to do plus there are no readily available places to do it in properly.

And that is?

I don't have like loads of money too, but saving on stuff like fastfood, candy, schoolbooks you don't use, sell them, etc etc, so I got a beetle, my brother is 15 he saved all his money for 4months to buy a minibike with clothing, so I'll trough in a cliche again, If you want it, you can do it.

Don't let the people at work tell you how much you earn, and how high your ranking is...go somewhere else and show people you can do better and YOU decide what paycheck you'll get.

Well mmap looks like you know exactly the way I feel then and so does ESPNSTI.

Legal tracks ;). If I want to go for lap days, I have to part of a club. They don't have lap days for some reason.

If you want to be wealthy read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad".

I don't think that's really the problem though. Please dude, go to you doctor and get treatment for depression. There's no reason to put yourself through torture.

If you want to live in Europe then go to Europe! Live in hostel for a bit if you have no money. You have citizenship in Germany right?

If you want a job you enjoy more go back to school. You can do co-op, which should cover a lot of the cost.

The point is: Don't wait until you've had enough.

People don't give you respect, are mean as hell if you can't fix their issue,
Yeh I can become a bit mean but only if the woman from Dell in India tells me the only way to fix a problem is to REINSTALL XP which pisses me off  Thats their solution to everything!

Anyway hang in their Mischief!

Mischief - I won't say I know how you feel as I've never suffered depression, but I've seen its effects on my loved ones - my wife and father have both suffered from depression.

Please see a professional about how you're feeling, they can and will help you. Talking about it helps too (including this), trying to deal with these feelings on your own may make you feel worse about yourself.

Take care mate, all the best.

Well Ontario is a place where it can be quite expensive to live (house prices, insurance premiums)

so that's not helping you, and well your job sucks...

But what prevents you from looking into something else? I'm sure you're qualified for other more interesting jobs! You're still young, don't give up on life yet mate, you've got lots more to do and live. :)

UKD: Doctor?? What is a doctor?? I don't trust them after what happened last weekend anymore.
Right now I only have a Canadian Citizenship. Since my Polish citizenship hasn't been revoked yet, I'll be applying for my Polish passport soon.

SL65AMG......: That's what we say AFTER about 2-4 hours of troubleshooting and you're computer giving our software a ton of errors. And that's also after we check with our superiors. I just deal with one type of software to install on the computer and I troubleshoot the BlackBerry. That's about it but people can be such a pain in the ass.

I'm refiguring everything out right now to see where to go next. What type of job I want, what to do next, etc.... I have to talk to my Supervisor and see what my chances are in order to get into Britain.

Renesis: Yeah racing. This Tuesday I'm going back home to London (about 100 km away) and I'll see if I can hit the limiter this time. That's my anger management and stress reliever.

I also have someone give me info on Project Management. With that I could do any job I want basically so we will see how that goes as well.

hahaha, yea me too. last time i called (im always polite over the phone btw) my computer would not start and i had already tried a reformat but it would still refuse to start...the lady simpily told me to reformat...again  :censored: i called again the next day and luckily i was able to reach some other guy and he was able to fix my problem (hardware failure).

anyways...just hang in there....look at wat ESPNSTI said, he was able to bounce back and now hes driving a sick sti :D :woot:

Hey, look at it this way, I'd say a good majority of the people that call you about their Blackberries are those zombie, assholes that walk up and down Bay St. all day long. I wouldn't give it too much thought.

If you enjoy speed, and you can't find a track, how about Go Karting? I think parking lot autocross is pretty easy to get into, too.

I'd suggest a couple of other things for stress relief, hitting the weights, join a boxing class, anything that will let you channel that frustration out without loosing your job because you yelled at the asshole on the line :D.

You're still young and the fact that you're earning so much says something about you. I've seen alot of people twice your age that wasted their lives doing nothing. Atleast you got your foot into something. Keep your relations good with your boss, and hey, if you leave, you'll have a great reference.

^ I agree, Go-Karting kicks ass. Cheaper than racing but sooo much fun. Definitely worth trying as a stress reliever :)
Because... hitting the limiter on public road can have pretty bad consequences. And not only for you, which is the worst part.
