The day has finally arrived. Ferrari of SF has just called and said that my dad's F430 is ready to be picked up. I'll post pics upon my return.

I don't suppose you want to swing by my house and take me for a ride in it?

HOT DAMN! Which color combination? Enjoy! I'm soo jealous!

bastard!!

just joking... congrats mate. pics and spec please?

BlaRo, the important thing is that I am about 1 minute off the freeway and right on their way back to Sacramento!

That's awesome... what colour?

I'd have gone for a Gallardo but a Ferrari is special like no other I guess. :p

HuH? There is no Ferrari dealer in San Francisco, yes there is a "Ferrari of San Francisco", but its in Mill Valley.
I hope you don't really come around San Francisco looking for them.

The question is, does your dad trust you enough to let you drive it?

Remenber to dress the part, from now onwards. Also learn Italian.

I love how you guys are sucking up to him like it's his car, he just said its going to belong to his dad.

Nice. I drove an F430 and it will alter your DNA if you're a car enthusiast. Pics, please.

There's also the Ferrari dealer in Redwood City, which is called "Ferrari of San Francisco." It's actually there they (would have) handled any MC-12 transactions.

If that is the case, I actually live ON THE SAME ROAD (El Camino Real) as the dealership, in Burlingame...you would drive past me to get to S.F. or the Bay Bridge.

I can be home all night. *laughs*

Oh, and it's my birthday in 4 days. What do you say?

I know... I've been there probably 10 times in the last few years. I had to take pics with a crackberry as my dad's DSLR was full and I had no time to dump pics. I have to e-mail them to myself individually so i'll post them in about an hour.

As for spec, it is a coupe in a color called rosso rubio metallico with a cuoio interior. That means a metallic red-wine color with a natural tan hides color. It has the f1 transmission, the nice stereo and carbon fiber upper dash, paddles and steering wheel. It has the stradale wheels and black brakes.

How much did you get it for, if you don't mind me asking that is. I think the Ferrari dealership in this area was asking over $250K for a used blue F430 a while ago!

Damn, that's pretty sweet dude!
The question is... Do you get to drive it?
I got to drive my dad's 911 Turbo and I can tell you that was the best 30mins of my life!

That's with a significant markup. My dad has bought a Maserati and leased two ferraris from them before so they sold it to my dad at sticker.

I never saw the exact figure, but I know that it's approximately $185k.
And finally images from the trip, bear with me on labeling, i may have to edit the post.

My dad with a 599 in the same color as our 430; incidentally, Ferrari mistakenly delivered this car to a friend of ours who'd ordered a nearly identical car (minus the scuderia shields). It is awaiting delivery to a silicon valley millionaire.

Our 430 peeking around a corner. I thought this shot looked artsy, but it actually looks a bit crap.

430 spider in grigio metallico and tan leather. I suggested that he buy this color with a red interior, much like the spider press car. He liked it, but preferred his color scheme.

Maserati Trofeo racecar with plenty of battlescars, splattered bugs and scrubbed slicks. Badass.

The 430 in the light. The paint really looks fantastic (much better than the photo).

The beast at rest, home at last after a four and a half hour drive in bumper to bumper traffic.

Questions, comments, etc are welcome.

And unfortunately, I won't be able to drive it for a while. My dad wants to get the hang of it before he lets me behind the wheel.

Nice color combo! And the CS wheels were a great idea.

Too bad about the F1 gearbox. Almost the perfect car. lol
