I just joined today. I am a RWD Volvo enthusiast. I like Belgian ale.

Hi!

that new s40 is sooo good looking.
Volvo's have come a long way since being boring cars ;)

Except you have to put it in reverse to get the drive wheels where they should be in the first place...

:burnrubber:

Unfortunately a fair amount of cars are like that. There's nothing me or you can do to fix that. :)

I'd prefer RWD as well but you can't have a practical RWD vehicle in my area.

What about a 3-series. You'd be looking at a similar price as well.

This recommendation is coming from a Volvo fanatic too. :p As much as I like their new models, I just couldn't spend that much money on a FWD platform vehicle.

320i -> $38,000 with the sport package and 6-disc cd changer. I'll look into it but you automatically get that reputation while driving a BMW here in North America.

^ I don't think there is much of a reputation out here on the west coast. I don't think anything of someone driving a BMW atleast, other than that they have good taste in cars. You can't argue against an inline 6 and rear-wheel drive. :p

Yeah, I think the reputation doesn't apply to Canada. The only problem is RWD in snow, because skiing is probably out of the question.

But RWD on snow is so much fun ! :woot: Really. You don't need nearly as much speed to get the rear end loose. YeeHaaaaww !!

With really good tires it is not so bad.

I miss driving a RWD...

as much as I would love to buy a S40.... IMO a 3-series is a way better buy, over here BMW drivers are generally classed as cool, has a good taste and cars and don't want to show off, Merc. drivers are just assholes, Period.

I don't like the new 3 Series, if I was in the market I'd look at the S40 T5, the new A4 and the 9-3

I was really dissapointed by the interior of the volvo, it looks so boring! the 9-3 impressed me, and the Audi, well it was very nice, but I was expecting a bit more. I think I'd go with the Audi overall.

Too bad the new 3-series (E90) only has a 4 cyl for the 320, unlike the old versions. So now you need to get a 325 or 330 to get the "real" BMW engine with a 6 cyl. With stupid car taxes in Norway, that means it's incredibly expensive to get a new 6 cyl BMW.

Guess the 4 cyl is a decent engine, but not quite the same.

Found a 99 328is with 58,000 km for $26,995 CDN but I don't think I'll be going for that either. I think I'll wait.
