Interesting EVO vs. STI challange.

Both those cars are amazing value for money - I can't conceive why anyone would buy any other car under any circumstances (maybe a little over-reaching :p ).

I love the styling of the 350z so much.

I wish I had the money and friends (with nice cars) to do tests like that. :x

ESPNSTI what do u mean not the result u expected..?

i want an STI even more...

Well, if you believe most car reviews, the EVO should have won (especially with the added HP).

Well yes, but I totally don't trust C&D, Automobile, etc. i just read em cuz i liek cars and their articles...thought i guess its not totally legit sometimes

U got any mods on ur STi? or its stock?

Mine's stock, I want to learn how to get the most out of it first before I mod it.

I dunno man, that STI had black racing tape on the headlights!
Cool link. Those japanese rally monsters are some awesome cars.

That is true...i've always wondered how to mod a STi with some spare cash..i mean body kits? No.. STi's is nice...i mean look how good they were in those pictues...though the Z did look nice

I guess the Evo MR would beat the STI....maybe?

i wouldn't mind going for some of that GT3 street car SAMWICH

as for sti and the evo...
whenever i think about this, i think about that one top gear eps where they compared the gt3 rs with the 360 cs. as jc puts it, evo is a "pentium on wheels" compared to the sti, as the 360 cs was compared to the gt3 rs, respectively.
either car, it's

What I'm sure is that whatever you get you'll have a hard time getting the best out of each anyway

Dunno how much they cost where you are but those cars are fantastically expensive here, and the cost of spares is just taking the piss.

Also that new 350z is minging it's such a shame when the 300zx was so cool and much faster.

I bought mine (2004 USDM) for $31k (I'll be paying for it for a while :? ).
That is less expensive than some trucks and most SUVs that people seem to buy here.

31k is a bargain compared to the prices for the STi here... not sure about the price for a brand new one but on a used car magazine... a used 2001 Subaru Impreza WRX STi about 43k USD... a new Impreza STi should be about 65k USD... you should be lucky... ESPNSTI

Interesting... I'm not entirily sure what to think either.

I mean, the Stig tested both cars (same driver - good reference) and depending on the spec either the evo was faster or they were the same. To me that seems far more reliable than this test.

Also referencing to the Enzo time, yes the driver could have been a bad one but there are also so many other factors to consider (Weather, temperature, tyre condition etc. etc.) that it might be meaningless unles run back to back.

Loved the pictures though DROOL...

Both excellent cars, but i would take the EVO if i had the choice, i dont really no y maybe just cuz i like it more. 8)

What the new one might bring..:

That spoiler better work really really well

That Mitsubishi WRC car is based on the regular Lancer, not evolution.

I don't give much credibility to this test but anyway maybe it's true but I doubt suck a big diffrence.

And anyway everywhere else, Stock for Stock, the EVo EATS the STi on the tracks, whatever the track is, I've never seen an STi win.

So I guess the guy did put good mods on his STi and the other driver wasn't used to the car or something

This is an overstatement, sure the Evo beats the STI, but not by much.

Well don't get me wrong I find it strange too, but if this guy is telling the truth (and I didn't see anything in his post that lead me to believe that he isn't), then this is a PRO driver that was driving the EVO!
Driver has been Pro for 5 years, has done ALMS races and been on the podium in Grand-Am Rolex races.

I know, but he's got to get used to the car, even if he's a pro.

As I said, I've got no problem to accept he won, but by such a big margin? :?
