So I know a lot of people here has the ipod and also one person comes into mind when i think of scratched ipod but some how get a replacement from apple(andy?)

So how is this all done? Is it part of their warranty to provide a new ipod if let's say your click wheel stops working or the harddisk dies?

How does the regular warranty differ from the Applecare except that it's 2 years?

I just went on apple's site looking to get my ear phones replaced(only used them since November 2005 and they already broke). I hope things will come through.

In the near future, I would like my ipod to be replaced due to the countless amounts of scratches on it.

Bsaically, I want to know what you guys do with your bad ipods?

I believe with the Applecare... you get technical support for 2 years as well.

and to get a replacement iPod, all you have to do is kinda make your iPod screwed up, this is done by slamming it against the bed or dropping books on the back of the iPod.

btw, don't ever say you're iPOd screwed up cuz your batt sucks... cuz they will hold you're iPod for 2 weeks for testing

thanks for the tip. I know it has worked for you so If i ever need my ipod replaced, i'll try your method.

yup... but make sure you don't slam it against a very hard surface like the wall (remember what jasonchiu did?... then it won't cover)

Yeah, it can't be obvious abuse, because they will void the warranty for it... if they can't tell it was dropped, they will most likely fix it.

I only have applecare in case my ipod breaks, not to get a new one by damage caused myself. I don't abuse the system, and I highly suggest others don't because Apple will crack down.

Applecare will replace ur iPod with the same model no questions asked. They can also upgrade you if you have repeat problems like I did. I just got bumped up to a 5th gen because 4 4th gen photos broke. Also, u get 2 years of phone support.
