Is Elon Musk gambling his business empire?

The exodus continues.

Disney, Comcast and Apple join advertiser exodus from Elon Musk's X over antisemitism

On Saturday morning, Musk tweeted that X planned to file a lawsuit against Media Matters on Monday, accusing the group of wrongfully attacking the company's right to free speech.

Oh, the irony! Does x now get countersued for violating Media Matters' free speech rights? Maybe musk will learn that a company can't infringe on on another company's free speech rights. Maybe

Ironic that Yacca's replacement had to pull NBC ads

Elon Musk's latest lawsuit set to backfire spectacularly

"The lawsuit might get dismissed," wrote Post columnist Greg Sargent. "But if not, Carusone said, Media Matters would probably pursue discovery, seeking to learn whether Musk and X executives 'knew internally' that these juxtapositions were happening, what they communicated with advertisers about this, and how Musk internally discussed procedures for handling extremist content."

What shit are they afraid of that they’re trying to discredit it before it’s even published? Everybody knows misinformation on xitter is rampant, so I guess it must be even worse than everybody already thinks?

X and Misinformation Super-spreaders Share Ad Money from False or Egregiously Misleading Claims About the Israel-Hamas War

NewsGuard identified ads for 86 major advertisers — including top brands, educational institutions, governments, and nonprofits — on viral posts seen by a cumulative 92 million X users advancing false or egregiously misleading claims about the Israel-Hamas war

TIL Paris Hilton buys ads for herself.

“That is what everybody on Earth will know,” he said. “We’ll be gone, and it’ll be gone because of an advertiser boycott.”

I don't think Elon is on the same planet with the rest of us in terms of recognizing action and reaction...

That's your Free Market at work: Consequences?! For my actions?!

You know who helps with these things PR people. They go over potential questions, rehearse responses, focus group, and poll public opinion. Ensuring the results of your comments reinforce your goals.

You know who doesn't have PR people arrogant drug addicts who mouth off.

I'm thinking we are getting closer and closer to "Who killed Elon Musk?" because people won't accept that the erratic genius overdosed on ketamine.

So you think if the bouncer would have let him into Berghain he'd just have relocated to Berlin and spend his days moving back and forth between clubs and keta hangovers?

I think allot of bouncers would not have let him in for being a loser in his own way. I also think this guy has a rejection overcompensation complex.

I think his performance is exactly what probably got him out of jams before. "What if we blow up the paradigm!?" "What if... there was no advertising!? I think for a time that worked with the go fast break stuff tech bro atmosphere.

It's hitting the wall with a thud with advertisers selling products and he knows "it will bankrupt the company" so his childlike response is "I'll tell everyone you guys broke the cool thing I have and they will side with me".

You can see the gears turning slowly as the drug confidence ebbs away.
