I was just wondering if the PSP is worth getting or should i put my money towards my car, or something else? :D I already have an Archos AV400 PVP... which is like an MP4 that plays videos... but no games :(

Get a DS! :D
It's $130 now, and Nintendogs and Advance Wars DS come out tomorrow. If you get one I also highly recommend Meteos. It makes really good use of the touch screen, and it's highly addictive once you get started! Also, though I don't know how much it would matter to you, the DS is going to get a lot of "different" games like Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Trauma Center: Under the Knife, Lost in Blue, and Trace Memory. There's also the game in my sig, but I doubt it's coming to the US!

ugh, DS?

I'd suggest the PSP. I have one for travelling. There really isn't the game selection as of yet, but IIRC GTA comes out for it this week or next, and GT for it isn't too far off. The screen on the PSP is pretty nice, so it may be a better choice for watching movies than your archos (I don't know what the screen is like on the archos).

DS really sucks, no offence to anyone, its nothing compared to psp.

psp is good, now u can download games on to the memory card off torrentsites! SAVINGS!

1GB card can hold 5 games on average!

psp can also be used to listen and watch movies/ music

looks better too.

however i do wanna play that dog game on ds, the one where u have a pet puppy

After having an N-Gage, mobile gaming is overrated. Now before you attack the N-Gage and say the games were all crap, and they were, I never used it on the go as a gaming machine. I don't see the point anymore. When will you use the PSP? I always thought i'd use it on public transport, then i bought a car. I thought I'd use it when i went away, but when I am away, I am doing other things. Video games for me stay on the computer or the Playstation, on a full size screen with decent control devices. As good as the PSP is, i think you may find you don't use it as much as you might think.

true i get sick if i dont look striaght while in a moving car so its pointless for me to get one

I don't find myself playing it as much as I had planned. But it does look to be a good investment for business trips (sitting in an airport for hours on end) and car trips when someone else is driving. I do prefer the experience of playing on a TV screen (or in my case a projector screen), but for times when I don't have access to those things, a PSP works well.

when are u gonna use the PSP? on the bus? i wouldnt, not with the amount of ppl out there that would knife you for your phone or ipod. the only place i'ld feel safe using it is at home... and i alrdy got a ps2 for games

on the plane its a good idea, but does the battery last that long?

I have gotten 6 hours of battery life out of mine. That'd be a Washington DC to San Francisco flight, easily. Bring along an extra battery and you could likely do transpacific flights (DC to Tokyo).

I would also feel safe using it on an airplane, and in a car. I wouldn't use it on a bus, but then again busses just aren't my thing. I play it at home a little, when I feel like playing the games that i have for it.

it lasted 6 hrs on my recent 8.5hr flight.
much bettar than the in flight movie they played =]

Hmm, I'm tempted to buy one...
And the leeching whore in me like the fact you can download games for it...

I mean, I would buy some games... Like 50/50... But the one they start to sell in Germany soon will all have 2.0, and thats uncrackable atm, right?

Buba

its will be crackable, just got to wait.

back in the ps2 days.

my friends paid so much for a crackable one during x'mas and i couldnt afford it so i got a dreamcast, during then there was one "uncrackable" one i could have got, few short months later, the "uncrackable" was easier to be cracked and worked more efficiently.

My Archos has a 4.5 in. screen... and it can play movies, music, photos, and store info on it, but i herd that u can log onto the internet with your psps, is that true?

dont like either if u can afford a ds or a psp why kill urself with sucha small screen geta phone that can do it

I don't have a PSP, but I've seen it on a number of websites that you can use the internet on the PSP... I think someone even got Windows 95 to work on one... If I had the cash, I'd definitely consider buying one.

Last I saw, phones had much smaller screens than either a PSP or a DS...

Also, yes, they can connect to wireless internet access points. Version 2 of the software will allegedly include a web-browser. Not really useful, but that also means in wifi enabled areas you can play online anywhere.

from your comments some of you are looking at the psp as a necessity
when in fact you should really only consider it when u have the luxury
of a relativly decent income...

re the original poster....put your money into your car
cuz u can use your car to drive to work thus make more
money...a psp is only useful when u're on teh shitter
fighting the good fight
