not completely finished, first needs some sandblasting, then basecoat and decent paint, and a friends mother will take care of the chair, caus as you can see, it's seen better days, but it was for free :)

 respect ! i've never 'made' something my own hands, apart from making songs. You guys did a nice job with that metal. I wish I could do that. Not that i'm not handy, but I don't have the materials and tools and the experience.

You should also mount a subwoofer under or behind the chair, that looks fine by the way...

Holy crap, this will look very nice once completely finished!!! Where did you get a free racing seat from? I've been looking at 2nd hand ones, and they don't really go below 100euros.

one of my best friends his girlfriend her dad rides in amateur rally events, and this is one of his old seats, from back in the days those didn't need to be TUV approved

he recently bought 8 rally cars, a few escorts, an opel manta 400, opel ascona 400 and a few i don't remember. you should've seen those

he also bought a E36 bimmer, and an M5 engine with 60km (only 60!) to swap in there. turned out you have to be using the standard engine block in those events :(

anyone has an idea on how to fill the holes?

Yeah, I would probably build such a thing as well, or let my Dad do it, since he is really good at welding, but where to find a proper seat... Ebay?

great work bone!

how heavy is it?

not heavy at all, without the seat, i don't think it'll be around 5kg, maybe little more, but definately less than 10

U'll have to have a lot of space to fit it in a room + looks ugly but anyway its fun!

no man its great :D i always wanted to make such a thing myself, but the chairs are so expensive :(

That's awesome! Hope it withstands the shakes and impacts of getting pissed off at Gran Turismo 4 for the 12th billionth time because you can't beat the Slipstream Battle with the Honda Odysseys. That's just freaking impossible!

you can stand on the platform the steer is connected to, so i think it will ;)

and if it doesn't...welding machine is never far away

 Very nice

 you could start a business with that.

The idea is great....if u spend more ??? or $$$$, then u should make the seat adjustable (i.e. moves back and forth....)

it already does ;)

after brainstorming for more than an hour over how we would have it slide front and back, we discovered a lever...the chair already had a sliding mechanism attached

That's awesome! I like it, it looks kinda like it was made of bits of old car frames!

A metal plate welded on top of the hole?
