James Bond - Quantum of Solace

dayem, the quality of Bond girls is rising...

Halle Berry was nice, but this is better... yum

Riiiiiight.....this reminds of something.....Oh yes that's right !! The Westboro Baptist Church. Just a bunch of messed up wankers thinking they are being taken seriously who now have got their 15 minutes of fame.

Wow, your knack for trivia is strong! I was thinking more of the guys who still fly the battle flag of the Confederate Army from the American civil war of the mid-1800's.

I think the Soviet-nostalgic guys just miss her and didn't want to share her with the rest of the world.

Right just came from the film. I would give it a 7,5/10. I think it was better than Casino Royale but less interesting. And I don't like the ultra-fast edits during the action scenes.

Who cares though, it's Bond:D:D:D

Oh, and it has the best beginning to a film EVER! When you hear the soundtrack you'll understand.

I am going to see this in a week, but there is no way this can top XXX....a live gig by Rammstein, playing Feuer Frei with no holds barred, flaming gasmasks and all and to top all of that a guy gets shot and is sent crowdsurfing !! Now how cool is that. I do not care how many Aston V12s there are wailing in I-don't-care how beautifl Lake Garda, it can't top Triple X.

I havent seen it yet, but my god the soundtrack is shockingly bad!!!

It is a fact that the white stripes are the shittest musicians on the planet. The guitar solo in the songs kicks ass (NOT!)

the entire soundtrack reeks of generic...

John Barry's soundtrack were made of pure win :D

100% agree. The soundtrack is pretty shit, hopefully it doesn't ruin the movie too badly.

I saw the film yesterday and it was the first time i saw the new Bond Song "Another Way to Die" by Jack White & Alicia Keys and i actually liked it. I thought it fitted well with the Bond movie. I recently bought the soundtrack on iTunes and while i know a lot of people have disliked it, there are a few tracks on there that i enjoyed and i've preffered David Arnold's bond music over others. Except for Barry, he's still the master of Bond Music.
The film itself i found very entertaining and while its not as good as Casino Royale its still very good. Daniel Craig has done the most difficult task in making Bond more human and in many scenes it shows. The opening 5 minutes are great and i really enjoyed it.
The only thing that i found had ruined the movie was the sun had printed a spoiler of the film across an entire page and when it happened in the film, it just wasn't shocking.
As for everyone's comments about the music, i'm reminded something a friend told me once. "one man's heretic is anothers prophet"

Wait, it's out?

Saw this today. I watched Casino Royale last night because I thought I should get up to speed on what happened and I'm glad I did, I would have been completely lost.

My take on it: (ehh, better spoiler tag it)

Enjoyed the film as a continuation from CR, which was way too complicated IMO. They kept with one story and made it last. The theme music grows on you, but I don't think it's as good as the CR theme song, which I can't stop playing.

I've also finally accepted Daniel Craig as Bond (I hated him and wanted PB back when Casino came out, which is why I refused to watch it), and he's very good at it.

Fairly disappointed with the cars in the movie. You can tell that Ford are stumping up cash for it, because every new, shiny car is made by Ford or companies it owns/used to own. Land Rover, Jaguar and Volvo all appear, along with lots of Hydrogen SUVs with suspiciously Cayenne-like rear lights.

Anyhoo in Casino there was very little in the way of car a car chase or gadgets (a defibrillator?), but he did at least drive a DB5 for a while. No such luck this time around, all you see of the DBS is the short chase before the titles where he has zero gadgets in his car. Actually, I don't remember seeing any Bond gadgets throughout the entire movie, not even his sone-nav phone. It might crop up once, but just as a camera.

A good thing about it was the length. At 160 minutes, Casino was faaaaar too long. It felt like two movies together, and it's not one I'll be in a rush to watch again. I will think about getting this on DVD though when it does come out, much more watchable.

Verdict: I enjoyed it, worth the ?8. Some funny moments in there too which lightened it up a bit. :)

Wait, it's out?

I heard they had heavy security at the cinemas so they wouldn't have any leaks. I wonder if they would do it here too?

No security here, in fact the guy who checks tickets was even more gormless than normal.

I was at the premiere here in Sweden and there was no extra security from what I could see. Just the usual clip before the movie actually starts.
So it hasn't premiered in the U.S?

yay, I am going to the premiere on Thrusday :), we get it a week later than in UK, I guess..

A big 'please don't video this film' sign..

The car chase at the start was indeed epic, I can see how one of the Astons ended up in the lake when they were filming it!

opens tomorrow here...
please to anyone who has seen it : USE THE SPOILER TAGS
