Yahoo News' Michael Isikoff reported that Chapman University supports a subpoena from the House January 6 Committee requesting 19,000 emails from pro-Trump lawyer John Eastman relating to his work for the former president to overturn the 2020 presidential election, which are apparently on the school servers.

At a hearing on the matter, a lawyer for the university said that Eastman's use of their server to conduct that business was "improper, unauthorized and I liken to contraband."

this week's Trump news seems to have shaken even their jaded attitude.

For instance, the Times' Peter Baker tweeted on Tuesday, "Even for Trump it's quite a week -- first dangling pardons for capitol attackers, then admitting his goal was to have 'overturned the election' and now calling on the House to investigate Pence for not throwing out votes of multiple states so a president who lost could keep power." Then the Times' Maggie Haberman, appearing on CNN on Tuesday night, said, "it's been a breathtaking couple of days." This NYT piece by Shane Goldmacher headlined "Trump's Words, and Deeds, Reveal Depths of His Drive to Retain Power" says it all.

Michael Schmidt, Washington correspondent for the New York Times, talks with Rachel Maddow about new reporting on Donald Trump's direct involvement in plans to seize voting machines in a bit to retain power in the wake of his 2020 election defeat.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said he's not for pardoning January 6 rioters, and former President Trump wasted no time firing back at Sen. Graham and on doubling down his wish to pardon individuals who took part in the January 6 insurrection.

Memos Show Roots of Trump’s Focus on Jan. 6 and Alternate Electors

Just over two weeks after Election Day, lawyers working with the Trump campaign set out a rationale for creating alternate slates of electors as part of an effort to buy time to overturn the results.

G.O.P. Declares Jan. 6 Attack ‘Legitimate Political Discourse’ https://nyti.ms/3B0e3MY

What? This is sickening. Does this mean the GOP is now the party of Trump and all reason is completely out the window?

How do we stop this run away train?

We can only hope that this splits the GOP into nutjobs and people that actually want to govern. The Dems will still F it up somehow though...

There already is a split in the party, but the wrong side seems to be winning.
