I heard rumors that he is not a happy bunny with the Ford GT and he gave it back to Ford for a full refund. Drives an Aston for the time being...

is that true?

I guess it depends on how much they messed up with the GT?

Imagine trying to argue with Clarkson over a refund?

Plus, the bad publicity they will get if they really pi$$ him off.....

I've heard this rumour too. :(

And frankly if it's not doing the business I'd ask for my money back from Ford too stating the car is not fit for purpose! 2 years all that cash and a knackered car at the end of it (which doesn't even sound very nice) I'd be furious

Actually I gave back a clio to renault once because it kept going wrong, and i got a new better one which was fantastic, until I crashed it. :?

I think he'd keep it but maybe with a partial refund. It's still his childhood dreamcar and it remains very exclusive. I'm sure he loves it nonetheless.

Dunno how it is in the UK, but at least in Finland you can return the car and have all your money back if it is not as promised (i.e. does not work as promised) so if the law is the same then he can do as the rumour says...

Maybe its a case of your should never meet your heros, like James with the Lambo. He's dreamed of having this car for years, had to wait 2 years to get it and now he has its a huge disapointment. Much like Hammond with the Dodge, it may have been his dream car but there wasn't much point him having it, its too big for UK roads and very expensive to run.

I dont see why he didnt gat an aston in the first place, ok it costs a bit more but hey....they bum it soo much on TG!

I would think the UK would have a similar law to the USA's lemon laws. Which says if the same 3 problems occur and you complain about it, they HAVE to take the car back and refund your money.

I thought in the UK a DB9 was right about even with the price of a GT?

Jeremy paid like ?130K for his GT. The DB9 is ?103K...

But the GT is very very rare in the UK, so you could easily sell again, without or maybe only little loss.
I wouldnt be so sure about the price of the GT though, he might not have paid import-taxes on the car, so it could be cheaper than ?130k. He certainly wouldnt say that on TV, so this is just a guess.

i think he could sell it getting more money...?
cause ford only sold the gts to "people they like" and that means there must be some riche people who'd pay more than 130k :D

Well, I guess, he would go for the 430 then... After having read his article about it...

That sounds to be very true. Maybe I should forget my hero/dream car, the Pagani Zonda then? :?

If you don't have practice with high powered RWD cars, you're better without driving it, at least on the road. Just my thoughts, though.

I wouldn't be surprised if ford gave him a full refund, as some of you mentioned... imagine what JC could do to ford's image... so many people watch TG every sunday night all over the world... he's already said bad enough things about ford, he could make it alot worse

They already have. He can buy it back if he wants to.

But the end of that column is simply :lmao:

Verdict - So good you can have mine
