JC vs Tiff? Top Gear v 5th?

Hi,

I read somewhere that there was an episode of topgear where clarkson "punches a cardboard cutout of tiff needell in the face"....

I thought that would be funny as hell to watch, so does anyone know if that actually did happen? and what episode?


Anyways, can anyone remember examples where top gear has had go @ 5th gear , and vice versa??

Out of the blue, I remember when Tiff said that 5th gear was more fun than top gear when talking about the 911 Turbo gearbox.
I also remember the M. Schumacher interview that Vicki did when she asked him which of the two shows he prefered. He obviously said Fifth Gear.

BTW, I can't seem to remember that episode you talk about, with JC "punching" Tiff. Anyone?

Never heard of him punching a cutout, but it would be funny. There was another thread that talked about some TG and 5th Gear comments being similar on a certain car (Ferrari Superamerica I think). It's a tricky situation though, in the last cool wall episode Jeremy justified a Merc as being cool becuase Tiff had one.... and any way you cut it, that's a compliment.

Prolly some of the guys that have been around here more(Bartboy, Viper, SL65AMG, etc) will be able to tell ya more.
 
He punches some cutout in one of his movies (Shootout, I belive) but its some transport minister. Surely not Tiff...

i remember JC doing a burnout on that guys face...
 
i remember the use various cutouts of people like the transport minister when they were doing a braking test for the cheap cars test. and i also recall the cutout that Bone and Buba mentioned. however i'm fairly positive that he never punched a cut-out of Tiff, on the show anyway.
Tiff and JC are actually very good friends, if i'm not mistaken they did MPH05 together. The Fifth Gear/Top Gear rivalry is nothing serious and is all in good fun.
 
I don't know which Top Gear episode that is, but I remember Tiff punching a Jeremy cutout at the end of the Fifth Gear special on BMW M cars. From here.

He did a burnout on the Transport Minister's cutout in an Aston Martin Vantage in his Top 100 Cars of All Time video, that could be what you're thinking of.

i just remember i had this pic on my computer! he hit JC because of the whole XJR vs. M5 argument that JC and Tiff were having

That'd be right. Tiff ownes an M5 and JC once owned a villain XJR.

Me - I'd take a mean XJR anyday....thats the old version.
 
ahahaha didnt even notice that! reminds of what clarkson said about the Zonda being much faster in Top Gear than in Fifth Gear
