Do you guys feel jealous towards someone with a better, more expensive car than your own?

No since everybody has a better car than me.

A bit. I'm utterly obsessed with cars and I don't have one while all my friends don't know what a crankshaft is and own cars.

Only if its the car YOU want but know you won't see in your own garage anytime soon. Then it must be said, I can feel slightly jealous. As Jeremy Clarkson once said - "Jealousy is a cruel mistress.."

But if I look at it from another direction, there are people who feel jealous about what we drive to the extent that it drives them to "key" or in most recent times, chuck milkshake on the car

I'm going to have to go with a bit too. I hate seeing people in fast, expensive cars that are all dirty or in bad shape. Keep them in good shape.

As for close friends, I am not jealous, we all gotta start somewhere with our first cars, and some will start lower than others. My best friend is going to get a 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan soon, he knows zilch about it, but I'm okay with it.

Its just something you have to deal with.

Well I dont get offended I have friends who get to drive nice cars. But they are neither condescending nor arrogant about it, so I am cool about that. Who cares if your friend picks you up in a CL65 or any other car? In any case you should get to your destination. Although a CL65 provides some nice acceleration.

no, surprisingly i dont now that i think about it. Cars can be bought by money, money is attainable therefore there is always a chance of owning that car.

not really, and my car is a piece of shit right now...

But will people honestly say they are jelous? Because I'm fairly sure everyone is on SOME level.
Sure, I envy some people slightly. But I try to think about it as a motivation, not something to get mad or hostile about.

NOT AT ALL

i feel like i'm the only smart guy around here

if i look at the cars you find hear they're all honda del sol, citroen C2 VTR or seat ibizas. all those guys lended money from their parents to be able to get the car, and now have to cherish (sp?) it caus they payed so much for it, and if something to it happens, they're ruined for the next 2 years

then i'm happy i bought a crap car (opel kadett) i can enjoy and if i plow into something (like recently) it's no biggy. i'll get a decent car (M3?) when the time is there

Re: Jealousy?

I don't feel jealous of them - good luck to them if they can drive the cars I can only dream of. I have all the fun I want in my car, and that only cost AUD $6,000.

Sure it would be great to be able to drive my dream cars, but lottery aside there's no way I'm going to be able to, so why be jealous?

I don't know wether it is jealousy or anger, but I don't like seeing people in a nice car who don't know how to treat it properley or someone who thinks they are better than you because thet are driving a more expensive car.

It is not always worth getting jealous about though because you don't know the situation the person is in who's driving it. They could be on the verge of bankruptcy, or have saved up for ages to buy it.

You know what's the best thing, this I think will spark some jealousy...

You know that post I made about my DB9 Test Drive? Well, I'm 21, I don't have a car, and the best part... I don't have a licence! And I had 450bhp under my right foot!

Sorry... I had to say this... Had to say it somewhere hehe

But more to the point... I love seeing people with good cars, and trust me, you see plenty in Brussels... It gives you a sense that people buy those cars to drive around so people can see it on the road and admire it, and not stick it in some stupid old air-conned garage and leave it so no one ever sees them and they don't ever see the light of day... I feel happy to see them, and most times when the drivers see me taking photos of the Maserati, Ferrari and especially that black M6 in Brussels, they always smile at me and give a bit of a rev cos there's a mutual understanding that this is a great car

I remember a thread where you told us you drove WITH a mate, and not yourself... So your mate had 450 hp under his right foot... Own3d!

   Afaik, you don't need a license to revv a engine...
