Spring means lots of things to lots of people, but for Jeep owners, this time of year points to just one main event on the calendar: Easter Jeep Safari. This year, Jeep and Mopar have put their heads together to create another group of awesome concepts. All told, the automaker will roll out six new vehicles in the desert, including the Jeep Wrangler Apache, Jeep J-12 and Jeep Mighty FC concepts ? the last of which is pictured above. We can't say much about what the Apache will bring to the table, but the J-12 looks to pay homage to the old Kaiser Jeep M715.

Another year, another Jeep pickup truck that'll likely never make it to production. Sigh.

Still, the truck should be as cool as can be. Speaking of awesome, the Mighty FC teaser hints to the resurrection of the long deceased Forward Control. Our hearts ache from how killer this is. All six concepts will be unveiled in Moab on March 31.

Oh gawd! So much want. I wouldn't think twice about trading my Rubicon for something like that or the M175. Also... CAB OVER JEEP!!! HELLZ YAH!!! They haven't made a cab over since the early 60s I don't think.

Just saw those on Facebook. I'd say the key element in the whole set of vehicles is the FC Concept is riding on new Mopar PORTAL AXLES!!! They ate going to sell a shit-ton of those axle upgrades!

Shit, I didn't even notice that, I just kept staring at the cab. That's all kinds of badass. WANT EVEN MORE.

Edit: It looks like they are portal-converted Dana 60s that will be sold by Mopar but are probably made by an aftermarket company like Axletech. Still awesome.

Oh gawd... I need new shorts. So much want. Has there been any info released? Or just the photos?

If the roof on the FC is two pieces like that does that mean it comes off? That'd be even nastier.

Probably

Love the blue one, the wheels/tires kinda spoil the red one. I know they're going for the retro look but I'd rather they made it more modern. Looks like it's actually an old truck rather than a new concept that is a throwback. :?

Jeep's Facebook page mentioned that both the Gladiator and the FC are both just body mods to JK Wrangler pick-up body kit. I'd say that the top probably is removable, at least on the FC. unfortunately, these are just concept vehicles which means no one will get their hands on them unless there's major positive feedback from the public. Then they'd be just expensive kits like the pickup body mod.

From the Facebook post:

The Jeep J-12 concept is an extended version of Mopar's JK-8 pickup conversion kit for the Jeep Wrangler. The custom hood and fender are a nod to the beloved Jeep Gladiator series truck, and the vehicle features a combination of modern and vintage design elements.

The design for the J-12 adds an 18 inch extension on the Wrangler Unlimited frame, allowing for a 6 ft. long cargo box (with the spare tire located under the bed floor).

The Jeep Mighty FC concept hails back to the Jeep Forward Control vehicles built from 1956 to 1965. The vehicle is based off of the 2012 Wrangler Rubicon and features Mopar's new Portal Axle set.

The Mopar Portal Axle set featured in the Mighty FC concept allows for the greatest amount of ground clearance without requiring excessive suspension lift.

Could the FC theoretically be a commercial success? I think that it could if it were positioned for vocational jobs like light dump trucks, utility trucks, brushfire trucks and the like.
