Katrina could inundate New Orleans

Yeah, but it's more like *will* inundate New Orleans.
City is mostly evacuated already and out of gas for the most part.

Another thing about the gas. Fill up your tanks today Americans, after tomorrow most likely we'll see a jump in prices...since the Gulf coast oil refineries have been shut down.

Good point. Both tanks are filled I think.

Yeah, I know that it will inundate New Orleans, but I just copied that from CNN, so Ren wouldn't force me to do some push-ups... ;)

Anyway, hope that the damages and life losses are minorated (sp?)

 That was good.

It's gonna be a big one, Category 4-5 hitting land..and N.O. of any places? its gonna fill up like the bowl shape it is. I'm praying for the tens of thousands of people stille in the city.

hasn't it passed by now?

yesterday they said on the news it would pass "tomorrow morning"

we're noon by now

It is hitting land, now, I think. There are some crazy journalists in the middle of the storm. :dunno:

I think the eye might be past New Orlenes by now. I'm just glad that my hometown is just barely getting nicked by the outer edges.

They always send the wackos out in the storm to report. Its kind of pointless, its just trying to get your attention. like "Look at us, we sent out out best reporter to report the latest on the storm even though we could do the same from out studios!!!"

Last I checked, the storm is still pounding NO, I think the eye of the storm is just about over NO. So halfway done.

At least the US government issued an evacuation warning long before the storm hit land. Must be sad to see your home and home city totally destroyed though :( .

It is now a Cat. 3 hurricane. I just hope that it doesn't get innundated that much. I didn't know till now that New Orleans was like Holland, with a big area under sea level.

I heard the superdome lost it's roof, with all 10,000 people inside...not dead, but not quite dry either. The superdome's roff is fabric, I think.

It's got some holes in it, but the roof is still there.

One levee has failed, and the pumps arent working, since there isn't power, and no person has been able to start the diesel powered ones.

Let's hope N.O. holds up.

:( Oh crap.
You'd think someone would have given them a test run to see if they work. :?
