Land Rover Defender becomes the 3'rd car ever to fail the Moose-test.

In the German moose/elk test, The Land Rover Defender flipped, doing only 60 km/h - trying to avoid a moose in the road.

The test blames the bad weight-distribution, bad shock-absorbers and that it's very hard to get a feel of what the frontwheels are doing..

The brakes is also reported to be "the worst brakes on a car -ever".

Other cars that have flipped over in the Moose-test is the Suzuki Jimny - and the most famous one: The Mercedes-Benz A-klasse - in 1997.

Or pop it on to 2 wheels !

Umm, they don't put training wheels on it like they do here when they go to test SUVs? WTF?!

Man that would annoy the Big-expensive-SUV-drivers.

"By decree of the Queen of England (King of Norway/President of Umpalumpaland and so on), all big, tall, expensive SUVs must use training wheels."

I'd love that.

4th car... The Dacia Logan also failed it. This is what happened when the german auto magazine Auto Bild together with the german motorist organisation ADAC tried to do the elktest in 65 km/h. After this they were criticized for not pledging the test drivers to use helmets, because even the A-pillar gave in...

Look at the test driver's face...

More about (that in german) here and here.

Oh Schnap!

The Beford Rascal van also failed, remember?

I want that Dacia in high res! Want it for my desktop! :D

I do like the driver's expression. Looks like he's "business as usual". Do Germans not have emotions? :p

WTF is a Defender doing going fast enough on a regular road for anyone to care about how well it can go around a Moose?
