Last movie you saw?

21 Jump Street and 22 Jump Street right after. I can see why it did well, they made it simple and poked fun at themselves, good waste of time

Godzilla - Solid 8/10

I know how much some people absolutely hated the movie but I loved it. One of the biggest complaints was that Godzilla had very little screen time but I think it was tastefully done. With a film like Pacific Rim you see Jaegers and Kaiju in nearly every shot which is fun to watch but you lose the impact of the sheer size and magnitude of the situation.

Cannonball Run

I don't know if i'm more offended by the blatant racism or the front spoiler on the Countach.

Rating 3/10

I haven't watched it in a long time, but the sexism in it was pretty bad too.

Come on, give them at least some credit for the cars. Think of catastrophes such as The fast and the furious. "Danger to Manifold". Seriously? I'll rather watch the Cannonball Run movies.

No, you give the main guy an ambulance and a random limo? Neither are hero vehicles.

The start and the end of the film features a car park full of 911's and 308's, but the rest of the film have nothing special. You see a purple Dino in both movies for a split-second and a 928 gets run over. The rest of the film is random American 70's cars. (Not even good cars)

Ok, it's nice to see a 300SL and the DB5, the DB5 gets a surprising amount of use. The Countachs make their mark, but not enough to make it a great car movie.

The Boxtrolls

Personally, this is Laika's weakest film. Not as fun to watch as Coraline or ParaNorman.

The stop-motion was beautifully done and it did give me a few laughs. However, it did leave something to be desired...

7/10

Quantum of Solace

I thought it was terrible in 2008, but it's not that bad actually. 7/10

I never understood what people had against Quantum of Solace.
Neither do I. I found it to be a better Bond-movie than Casino Royale and especially Skyfall.

Some people... The best thing about QoS was Gemma Arterton.

Anyway, saw Maze Runner yesterday. Wasn't bad. The acting was nothing to write home about, but the story felt like it was just badly cobbled together stories of a bunch of other movies, especially Cube and Resident Evil.

Agreed. Even after all this time it holds up.

that is something that makes older movies very much brilliant imo, if they still work ages later with technology having advanced.
i'd like to throw in Sneakers here. watched it again a while back and this also still works (mostly), despite being set in the world of 1992 computers.

Just watched Alien the other day too. The computer tech is a bit outdated, but the rest of the movie is still fantastic.

Agreed. I watched it over the weekend, still good.

I have missed two chances to see it on a theater screen and will not be denied a third. I just need to be patient until it gets rereleased here.
Here are two trailers for it, the original and the rerelease version.

From 1968.

I've been playing Alien Isolation so I should watch that again.

Just got back from seeing Dracula Untold. Wasn't terrible, but not particularly good either. 5/10
