A Danish Government institution has a open forum on their website for people with disabilities to share their experience with care, wheelchairs ect. and the institution with then after 2 months look at the posts made and start a dialogue with the handicapped to see of there was anything they could do.

Now there was made a post about a privat firm that employs helpers for these handicapped to help with what ever, the company that employs these helpers get paied a good amout of money from the Danish Government. - the post talked about how rude, un-skilled, immature, young these helpers where and the firm was named. Many replys from people with the same experience poped up quickly but 5 Hours after the post was made the name of the buisness had been replaced with Xs..

Can they do that? - Or is it just really stupid as noone will get anything from the post as they dont know what buisness the person was talking about..

I think that's quite unfair to the people who are seeking care. If there is a firm that isn't doing their job, it would be best to know which compamy to aviod, rather than getting yourself into a contract or bad situation and later finding out that you should've gone with someone else.

Can they do that? Yes, censoring like that is something admins/mods can do.

Is it legal? Depends on the terms and conditions established by the website.

Is it right? No.

Think of it from the point of view of the Danish government. They're responsible for all the content on their website, so it's in their best interests to look into and confirm those allegations against the company before they let the company's name be known.

Let's assume for the moment that the stories are actually false, made up by a rival company or disgruntled worker who also signs up for a bunch of fake accounts to "confirm" the stories, and that this particular company actually does a good job. The posts could be very detrimental to the company, and the Danish goverment could be charged with libel for hosting the forum without editing the posts to remove mention of the company in question.

Even though the stories are probably true, there's still a chance that they might not be, and I think the Danish government has every right to protect themselves from that liability. How fair would it be for them to get sued as a result of them trying to help those with handicaps?
