Intentional vignetting or just a thick polarizer on a wide angle lben?

Did I post this one before?

Certainly not a perfect photo by any stretch but I kinda like it.

yup, that's it. I was to lazy to remove the UV filter and put the polarizer on so I got some mechanical vignetting. The 17-40 also exhibits a bit at 17mm and ?4.0. I like the look though, so I've kind of kept it.

hey, new day, new photo!

Seattle, the funny thing is that I've never been to the one in Cairo and I lived there for 24 years...

That aside, it's a very difficult environment to shoot, I came out with a few good ones of the fishies but I had to keep my lens wide open at f1.8 and even then I was getting shutter speeds of 1/30 seconds at best so between my hands shaking and the fishies moving most turned out to be quite blurry. Scratches on the tanks are also very annoying when you're trying to get a close-up shot of a fish.

And a photo:

New day, new photo.

I was screwing around in photoshop last night and ended up liking what I got with this pic.

Quite impressive - on first spot you definitely could take it as a painting. (On the second spot, the clouds are the only major thing that could give it away for me)

Taken on a dreary Saturday morning. Wanted to see what flat daylight did for colors.

Shadowness do you get media passes for those events?
I went to FormulaD last weekend and anywhere you can take a good photo was reserved for media pass holders

LOL I WISH! Thats wot im trying to sort out at the moment. This was taken at Silverstone, some good places to take photos, but nowhere near as good as the infield!

Still beats the event I've been to. A huge 3m tall cross hatched wire fence making shooting practically impossible. I had to go all the way up the stands to get above it and then my 200mm were not nearly enough to fill a frame with the car.

I'm not bitter or anything :p

Edit: Example, after cropping too

Lancia Fulvia HF, this was my kind of car-event.

The picture looks as if it was taken back in the 70s, but it's just 2 weeks old!
