Lens Flair

Mark: brilliant, although maybe a bit too low.

cvrefugee: you made it work!

^it appears he drove through a flaming pile of hay, that would be my guess...

Haven't posted a photo in ages

I had a great opportunity to work for one of Austria's top wine makers...

^I really like that, but for some reason I think I would like it better flip vertically.

What were you doing?
Wandering Ottawa on Canada day, something that was disappointing enough that I don't ever need to do again.

And did you get any more of that lake/coast?
Yup. Will post some more in the next few days.

The rather disappointingly short fireworks in Ottawa on July 1...

This is not the picture I wanted to get, but it's something, and I really had no idea where the fireworks were going to show. By the time I was in just the right spot to get the shot I wanted, they were finished after a short 15 minute display

I did a bunch of these... sadly none of them turned out as well as I was hoping.

you need to take a few, then merge them...

I HAVE to know the story behind this...

There was a crew of stunt drivers at the local fair, and that stunt was a motorcycle jumping through hay and wood that was on fire. Pic related.

Hmm, funny you brought up that picture... I was just thinking of merging some photos, albeit a different set.

Luckily I have a bunch of shots from that angle, but I'm not sure how I should go about merging them? Is there a setting in Photoshop or do I just put them together and turn down the opacity?

At any rate, thanks for the comment, was really looking for some on that shot.

file> automate > photomerge > select files > ? > profit

Obviously, that came to mind... but all I could figure out to do was panoramas, don't know which setting puts them together. :dunno:

Just open all of them in photoshop, copy paste one on top of the other and fiddle around with the blending options/opacity settings. I'd use Overlay or Screen.

I really like that, Mark.

Where was it taken?

I'm inclined to agree.

Mate of mine's selling his E46 318i, so he wanted a few photos to stick on the webs.

photomerge is only for panormas and the like (though auto-blending can be abused for changing faces and such). If you don't feel like going all out, aligning layers and putting them on lighten/screen should work most of the time.

I haven't tried out any stacking software yet but a popular free one for astrophotographers (because they do waaaaaay more stacking of images than anyone else) is Registax.

edit: hmm, it should be clear tonight, mayhaps I'll take a billion pictures of the sky and see what comes out upon stackage

Okay then, here's a merge of four different photos.

Maybe I'm doing it wrong or maybe I need more than 4 photos, but this doesn't look that much better to me (granted it's not the same shot :p).

oh I assumed you wanted a wider field of view, whoops.
