Quality is quite bad. Just how much did you crop?

Not just soft... what camera are you using? Looks like you upsized it from 640x480.

This was my first attempt at panning... shot at the Monterey Festival of Speed (Laguna Seca) and heavily cropped (wasn't taken in portrait).

Thanks for the explanation guys. I knew what chromatic aberation was , I just didn't knew it was abreviated CA. But I am shooting in JPEG not in raw and IceBone said new nikons get rid of it automatically - mine seems to forget. Could there be something wrong with the camera or is she just playing ballz in that pic?
Anyway, here's my work for today:

Not really satisfied with this... I had to use the flash to black out the background. But I think the high quality of shots in this thread (by others) is making me a little too critical of my own work... please C&C.

Edit: I know the texture on the rope isn't really focused too well... still without a tripod and kicking myself for it. Also, this thing is hanging outside my window so it sways a lot in the wind.

That's good. I like it. A bit out of focus, but without a tripod that's great work. What flash mode do you use to totally black out the background?
