^ Interesting effect!

Ah, so I'm not the only one having problems with Dan's pictures. I'm having hardly any of them showing up, I have to quote the message, copy the image link from there and view it separately, after that it shows up in the message as well.

Yeah, that's happening for me too.

A wind blasted cornice:

For everybody viewing this thread, does that whole image fit on your screen at once? I've just realised that the size I use probably doesn't fit vertically on a lot of screens...

I have a 19" LCD and I have to scroll one wheel "click", if that makes any sense.

Fits fine for me. With room to spare actually.

I'm running 1600x1200. 8)

Like the pic, but it seems a bit grainy and unfocused in the middle of the pic on the slope of the mountain.

The tree is about 30 meters tall, give or take. Funny you mention winter, it was lightly snowing.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I'll resize my pictures to be a bit smaller vertically.

Yes, I know what you mean. The focus was meant to be on the cornice, but the composition doesn't do a very good job of drawing your attention to that. I was trying not to be blow off... I was the only person there, I got the last chair up before the lift was closed due to high winds.

And to somebody who asked a while ago (Can't remember who) these snow photos are from Kicking Horse, not Whistler. Whistler you'd be able to find similar terrain, but it'll be more crowded.

Here's another one:

Got bored while learning for my accountancy exams (I guess that you can't really blame me for that :) )

Do you guys carry SLR cameras everywhere you go...or do you just have amazing photoshops skillz? God...these are always great.

I was coming home last evening and spotted a rather gruesome sight at the intersection next to my bus stop.

Apparently this is what happens when you get in the way of a bus. Luckily the bus stop is pretty close to that intersection so the bus wasn't at full speed (at least that's what I think). According to the news there were two men in the car (supposedly both sitting at the front) and the driver is the one who got hit worse...I just can't think anyone getting out of the front passenger seat with less damage than the driver.

Two more pictures in my gallery:
