I guess you guys didn't get the memo. "It's just a joke" is not a valid excuse anymore. Context doesn't matter, it's all hate speech, which isn't protected by the 1st amendment, or something.
 
Right... Then why do they use the "It's just a joke", or, "S/he wasn't being serious" to cover their own shit so often?
