Go away....look at something else...
Couldn't find a Finalgear XFG skin, so i took a W.i.p i had, made it into FG colours and slabbed the logo on it:

and yes, that mazda 787b had inspired me :p

it also on lfs world, but higher res is better

^ Its not bad but how about you keep it bit similar to the FBM one?
Im a person who likes to keep things a bit same :p

Like the "RC" Team in that video!!
Same theme but a bit diffrent to each vehical

And since the FBM has a nice looking skin already how about styling the XRG the same way?
Of course this is possible if someone can be arsed to do this :p

i don't have the time at the moment to go and make a new skin...maybe matt (who made the FBM) is interested in making it :)

I'm sure we used to have the FG skin for all of the cars (excluding the FBM because it hadn't been released at the time) but they would've been on the Team Finalgear website which seems to be down. I have the XFR skin which could easily be transferred onto the XFG maybe with a little bit of tweaking. :)

Yeah, Pdanev made the FG skins for all the cars (2 skins version infact). I had a quick look but i couldn't find the psd files. I hope I uploaded them to lfs.fg.com, but its not accessable due to the server issue. Stay tuned :) Maybe someone has the psd?

Edit: About the races: For me Q was really nice. I couldn't make a near perfect lap, result: 1:34:9 something. Then Burnsy pushed the bar even higher to a 1:34:low. Then he spectated me and hoping that it was enough, (basicly what massa did :p) Then as usual in the last possible qualifying lap I pushed like hell and went 1 tenth quicker
I had a blast running the XFG/XRG races. Nice close door to door racing. And compared to the FBM easier to drive for the less alien drivers.

I can only dream of driving such times. Maybe one of you fast guys can upload your setups for us lfs novices?

You can check this site for the setups: http://setupgrid.net Note, some setup are hard to handle. Stiff, high brake pressure setups.. with other words: hard to control.

It helps to know the track very well, know where you can brake the latest, speeds for each corners ect. Its easy to lower your PB by a 5+ seconds when you are new to the track and getting quicker. But it takes 'many' laps and experience to shave off those final seconds/tenths. (see my Q laps for reference )

for the new to LFS guys, if you press 4 you'll see a line, the "ideal line". red means brake, yellow means no brake/throttle and green means JC:poooowwweeerrrr. :)

After quite a few practices I managed to get my time as low as 1.37.7x with the XFG :(

:) Like I said, it takes time to go really fast. What you can do is do 5 or 7 laps and save the replay (spr, single player replay). We can give you tips to improve (braking, throttle, steering, "Slow in, Fast out")

Excatly. None of us got fast overnight. You just have to practice, practice and practice and then practice some more if you want to be fast.

There are brakes in the game???
Just Kidding :)

1.37.52 with really inspirational music.

I may need to do the replay thing. I really don't know what I'm doing wrong. I keep the ideal line, brake at the right points.
Maybe it's my car setup - it slides a lot in the corners, almost like a rwd.

You can try one of these sets: http://www.setupgrid.net/1/setup/hotlap/get/XFG@BL1 But they might be hard to drive for you though.
For the replay: after you 5 a 7 laps, press 1 or 2 for saving the spr file. They are stored in the "data/spr" folder.

Wehee....I did a 1.36.55 last night. I'm getting there.
I realized that giving throttle, mid-corner is not such a good idea after all.

You need to get on the throttle as soon as you can without having to back off later in the corner.

Also you should make use of replay analyzers. Drive few laps and save the replay and the download some fast guys lap from LFSWorld hotlap charts and then compare the laps. Those analyzers never lie and they will tell you exactly what you are doing wrong. It's easy to think that you are doing everything right when driving, but in reality you might be far off.

There is a analyzer in LFSWorld and there is a more detailed 3rd party analyzer here
