This day is a wonderfoul one, well worth celebrating. Finally, the most right wing party in the parlament (Moderata samlingspartiet), which i'm proudly a member of, is the biggest party in sweden. This mornings poll shows that the swedish ppl are breaking loose from socialist influence :D:D:D. We have now rached a long way in our fight for liberty and struggle against our famous swedish tax.

Isn't liberal-conservatives an oxymoron?

I'm glad a European country is moving more to the right. Is it more an economic change, or a social one?

You see how well Republicans/Conservatives are doing here and Im sure good things will come of this.

Finally ppl can see that taxing ppl to help others is good in spirit but doesnt really workout well. ;)

The election is in one and a half year, the social democrats have been losing a lot support for about a year now, so the right wing coalition will most probably win the election. When or if they win taxes will be cut and some taxes will be completely abolished. The climate for companies will become better by this, also the regulations for running small companies will be looked over. School system is also going to be changed by privatising a lot of schools and new school guide lines for an more individually baised education for everybodys gain. Then there is the question of the pensions, the national government controled pension system is about to fall apart now when we are experiencing a lot of ppl retiering and fewer ppl on the market paying ther pensions. The system is even declared stupid by the social democrats them selves, but they have no intention of doing anything to it. The private part of the pention system if working perfect thought. I could go on for ever but u get the point.

well as i have mentioned before politics over here is a bit diffrent, think of "Moderata samlingspartiet" as a mixture of liberalism and conservatism, in us party terms it is probably a mixture between mostlty libertarian party and the republicans, but with some influences of the democrats (i know it must sound really confusing :? ). It depends on what question/issue u look at. Then u also must remember that the issues that are disscussed over here now is not the same as in the us.

Thats exactly whats going on here!! :lol: :lol:

Democrats were saying for years, even while Clinton was in office, social security needs to be fixed, blah blah blah.

Now Bush wants to fix it and all the Democrats can do is complain and say that it doenst need to be fixed. They also offer no solution.

I'm french, and I think you need a bit socialism in each country.
If not, the rich get would get richer and the poor wouldn't have money at all.

Do you think about the others ?

I don't want to be reach and drive a porsche ( for example ) and have some neighbours with no house and nothing to eat !!
 
I think socialists need to rethink that old "we can solve the problems of the world if we play Robin Hood". Noone wants people to die of starvation living on the streets, but there are other ways of solving poverty issues than taking from "the rich" and giving to the poor. If you've earned enough money to buy a porsche, you've probably deserved it.

Look at what happen in France since the republican is on.
more people without job
the life is more expensive month after month
and we have less rights than 10 years ago.

Firstly: What does Bush have to do with french domestic issues?

Secondly socialism does not solve any problems in todays society. Instead of making ppl rely on others money u should try to solve the problem by motivating ppl to work. The anwser lies in indipendence. With indipendence new possibilities arrive and u can be able to affect your live for the better. Indipendence can only be reached by work and if u feel u have really earned your money u have more respect for it and possibly u also learn to see what is imortant in life. The governement should therefore firstly try to provide more jobs by making the climate for companies as good as possible (low tax et c).

Then i agree, we as fellow humans have the responsiblity to se to that our next does not have to starve or live in severe poverty. But instead of first turning to the government for help i would like to emphesize our individual responsibility. Many problems can be solved by private aid, just look what happened a couple of moths ago when the tsunami chatastrophe occored, ppl really showed that help doesn't always have to come from the government.

If these things don't help a persons miserable situation it is my personal opinion that the government as a last option should go in and help.

What i have tried to show is that government aid is not the only solution to poverty. By letting the market take care of as many problems at possible and emphesizing induvidual responsibility we could easily cut our taxes a lot and still live in a state of wellfare.

Sorry if it is a bit confusing, i'm a bit tired.
