Odd, do you keep your computer up-to-date with window updates and the latest network driver for your nic? If so I would report the problem to Microsoft.

Not an error to report - it's an actual XP SP2 "feature" - it limits the number of active TCP connections to 10.

Your lockup is not that uncommon actually, especially on laptops.

It shouldn't cause the OS to lockup, that is a bug that needs to be fixed.
