Lots of Error 324 action (empty response)

Just to let you know: I never receive it, I don't have any problems at all. I'm using Opera 11.62 on Windows 7 x64.

Try turning your posts/page count down to 50.

It has something to do with our front-end proxy. I'll play with it some more and see if I can get anywhere, but the https version of the forums uses a different system, so try that if you're having trouble. Let me know if you experience the same problems with it.

Seems to happen on Chrome for iOS as well:

Not sure how important this is. There doesn't seem to be a huge number of affected users.

It's something about Varnish and Nginx not playing nice, but work keeps me from devoting the time I'd need to actually figure it out. Use https and tell me if you ever see the error there (because then I'm wrong about Varnish being involved), and hopefully I can find the time to simplify the system one of these days.

Maybe I can call it "research" for my work sysadmin duties and do it at work :D

It just happened to me on Chrome. And when tried to load the first page of this thread it happened again. My Posts per Page is set to Forum Defaults. A refresh loaded the page both times.

I have been using Opera all this time and every now and then when I try to load a thread it would just appear to be loading but doesn't load anything but it doesn't give an error either. I always assumed it was something wrong on my end but it might have been this error.

I switched to the https and will use Chrome for a while to see whether it happens again.

I removed the Varnish cache from the website, so hopefully the era of 324s is over. Let me know either way.

I only had the reply-box-issue when I got an invalid https-certificate error and didn't allow it to proceed anyway.

Thank you; that was the missing piece of information I needed to figure it out.

Chrome blocks all insecure content by default when viewing an https page, and some important javascript is hardcoded to a http URL. Hopefully Quiky or Viper can fix that. I don't touch vB templates :shudder:
