I'm sure most of you know of the Lolcats phenomenon - you take a picture of a cat and add a caption in kittin English.

Well, one of my favourites (besides monorail cat) is ceiling cat.

When I found out that there was a papercraft version - one you could make at home using only scissors and glue - well, I had to have one. Here is a direct link to the instructions and template to print out.

Fifteen minutes, some glue and a bit of sellotape later, here's my results :

Personally, I think this is a great idea. If you like it, why not make one of your own and put pictures up here?

Your caption should read:

"Ceiling cat is watching me eat cheese"

You know, because you're from France :p

"Ceiling cat is watching me surrender to the Germans."

Oh snap! :p

Someday I swear I'm going to try this papercraft stuff because it looks really cool.

I'll have to take a picture of the one i made at the library tomorrwo
we only have a black and white printer though

Teeb I thought that you were Scottish?

I am! I'm just living in France at the moment.

Plus, if people think I'm French it means they immediately start going on about cheese-eating surrender monkeys, which is endlessly amusing...

So has the paper ceiling cat fallen apart yet? It was made in France after all.

No its gone on strike and is demanding more captions and a nicer ceiling.

One of my friends put one above his desk and put a caption that says ceiling cat is watching you procrastinate.

Here's my attempt:

Yea I did it with staples, one of the things I hate the most in the world is glue

 We need one of those for Viper :p

Papercraft is quite a good waste of time

Haven't done a ceiling cat, but I did a dragon and started another one in reverse and without lines. It's about 30 inches tall and about a bazillion hours with an x-acto knife to cut out the pieces for the head :?

Man, that is pretty good...

I'd like a caption with "Ceiling cat is watching cheese"
In case anybody has seen yesterdays Southpark ;-)

It's nothing any of you couldn't do. Just takes lots of patience and the ability to work with small little fold of paper.

Nabster that is just epic.

No, it would be upside down and on fire.
