Now I can't read dutch, but I could sort of make out of the text that this is
official pictures of a new 3200 GT kind of thing with a 4,2L V8 producing 405hp.

Looks a bit confused design-wise, sharp edges and soft ones around eachother.
Headlamps are strange, rear seems neat.

Dit zijn de allereerste foto?s van de nieuwe Maserati Coup?. Hij volgt het model op dat in 1998 debuteerde als 3200 GT. Op de autosalon van Gen?ve beleeft de nieuwe 2+2 zijn publieksdebuut.


De Maserati GranTurismo, van de hand van Pininfarina, is voorzien van een 4,2-liter V8 met een vermogen van 405 pk. Bij het ontwerpen is de nadruk gelegd op het comfort en is er gezorgd voor een riante plek voor vier personen. Het is Maserati gelukt om de gewichtsverdeling bijna ideaal te krijgen vooraan is er 49 procent en achteraan 51%.

Maserati noemt het nieuwe model geen GT meer, maar hij heet voluit GranTurismo. Dat is een verwijzing naar de eerste straatauto van Maserati uit 1947. Een GranTurismo met de naam A6 15000cc. Die auto werd eveneens ontworpen door Pininfarina en is in een oplage van 58 stuks gebouwd.
De nieuwe Maserati Coup? is een mooie evolutie van het oude model. Daarnaast keren in het ontwerp familietrekken van de Quattroporte terug ? zoals de gapende grille. Ook de drie kleine luchtuitlaatjes aan de zijkant zijn een verwijzing naar de vierdeurs.
Op de Autosalon van Gen?ve, die duurt van 8 tot 18 maart, kan het publiek zich voor het eerst vergapen aan de nieuwe Maserati. Reken er op dat niet al te lang daarna de eerste exemplaren in het straatbeeld zullen verschijnen, want in de fabriek in Modena heeft de oude GT al het veld geruimd ten gunste van het nieuwe model.

It's strange and slightly bulbous in some places but effin' hell. The Italians still know how to do it right (see your sig too hanasand). :love:
 
Wow. Absolutly stunning. It looks agressive but classy at the same time. I hope this sells well for the sake of Maserati. I would hate to see another marque go down.
 
like it, the front is good, can be a little more exciting in the back, love the simpleness of the interior (except not with red leather)
 
Looks a bit like a funny looking fish.. i'm not so sure.

May grow on me.. I guess.

You know how a boxer's lips are pushed out when he's wearing the mouthguard? That's what the front end of that car reminds me of. The rest of the car looks absolutely fantastic!
 
The front looks like an angry goldfish, but damn, I love it.

I thought this one was going to be called the Mistral? Anyway, I'd take this over a DB9 or Vantage anyday.
 
Stunning but I think they should ditch the 2 seats in the back. I mean come on, how often do people actually sit back there?

Seriously, what do I have to do? Just name it. I love the look of this - I think Maserati may be my new favorite car company.

Wouldn't go that far...I think the front end doesn't fit right with the rest of the car. If it weren't for that grill, I might of thought it was a Lexus.

The rest of it and the back end though, look very nice. I like the sharp, hard-edged corners at the back. Those rear lights look sort of Mercedes and I like it. The exhausts at an angle are a nice touch also.

If theres a car I want red leather in, it would have to be a Maserati or Alfa :drool:

The interior (based on just this one pic) looks very nice. I like the two tone and it looks better in quality than the Coupe/Spyder. Not sure about rear legroom...but who really cares?

General Shape - Great/Perfect
Front - Lights are ugly. Looks like Lexus IS. Curved-in grill looks weird.
Back - Looks OK. Still too busy, and looks a bit like the new Ford Mondeo.
Interior - Disappointing. The interior does not have the passion of an Italian automobile. Very boring and angular.

That is awesome. They've managed to make it look classy and aggressive at the same time. Looks fantastic in that colour too. To paraphrase Clarkson, that's automotive pornography.

Are you absolutely sure those pics aren't chops, because they sure look like chops ?
