Matt2k's ?500 Banger Watch Graveyard

I have looked to all directions. But towards many, many Alfas as well, yes. ;)

Alfas yes! Just make sure it has a V6 - or the Volvo 480!

I missed these posts, the red 147 is really close to me!

How about a Spaniard, parts bin special?... that I wouldn't want for free. But, you wanted a cheap car and it doesn't matter if you destroy it.

Do it! If only for a plate that says SAAB GUF!

Miss those days when LHDs where dirt cheap (and sterling was eye watering expensive) in the island.

I looked for XJ as an backup car for ?700 when I was picking up MX-5, friend of mine who's into that kind of masocism told me to stay away even if they paid me.
LS400 speaks to me, want to do roadtrip in one. After drivin 25000km'ish between UK and Finland, most in MX-5 (well did once in Westfield) it would be very, very nice to do once a trip in comfort and style.

Next years trip should be "most uncomfortable way to arrive", as life is so easy and dull, you have to create the adventure by making it hard, noisy and painful. Cos no one remembers those well slept nights when retired.

And you still have ?401 for the trip or upgrades.

Yes but they remind you of old Gran Turismo games so can be forgiven slightly. :D

Yes sounds like it fitted the brief as a courtesy car perfectly, it had the courtesy of dying quickly so she didn't have to endure the misery of driving it for very long.

I was a passenger on the only journey it made to my house, it was awful in every way. (They were new at the time)

I've seen Dutton for under a grand, search and buy. They are most definitely horrible enough for one trip to remember :D

?1600, but I bet it would be ?1600 that no one would forget :D

At the end you could kill it with fire, make video of it and go viral with huge money from Youtube that you could help to ease the pain :D LOL

I would totally buy that Volvo, I don't rate its chances on Scottish hairpins though without rear wheel steering. :D
