Didn't know where to post, but since the new members introduce themselfs here...

Is it an idea to get an avatar?

If I scroll down the pages and read the commentsI barely recognize any of you new people.

With an avatar I recognize you just by the colors in your avatar or sig.

That makes reading the comments alot more personal, I often read fast through the thread so if there are 10 new people with no avatars I don't remember which comments you are always giving..

Maybe I'm bitching... :oops:

What do you think?
 
Lol, yes u are.

If they stay a while 99% of the people get a avatar. But for now you'll just have to keep looking at thier nicks.

it's a good point :)

You know, when someone switches their avatar after having the same one for a long time, it always throws me off for awhile becasue I usually look at the avatar instead of the username.
 
I'm with Kip on this one. Why do you have to remember someone with seven posts ?

But seriously, it's no biggie but I was just 'reminding' some people ;)
 
I guess its finally time for me to get an avatar. I never had time to do it, but it does make identifying people much easier.
 
yeah but if noobs get avatars it makes more avatars to remember :lol:

I only recognize regulars by their avatars anyway
 
avatars are good, but sigs could be... ehm... smaller?

i really like that rx8 pic somebody has, but on one page in some discussion there were like 15 of them, and maybe as many words written... ;) and that bmw v10 something sig is huuuuuge

I think a banner size sig is good, but if you post a lot and your sig is big, then it gets kind of redundant.
 
I know what you mean josty. I look at the avatar and know who is posting. Frequent changes are annoying but subtle changes to avatars would be OK.

Mind you I won't be helping that since I am getting rid of the Cavalier so my avatar will be changing. :)
 
Changing avatars is confusing. I was wondering who replied to my post after Josty changed it. :lol:
 
I always remember people by their avatars. There are very few people without avatars that I actually remember things about (Hokiethang was an example, but it looks like he just got an avatar).

I've only had 2 different avatars during my stay in this forum, and I have absolutely no plans on switching from the Volvo moose. It will probably be my avatar for many many years to come. :D
