hey im going to europe and might be going to nurnburg wiht bro
i need information like where to rent cars and prices and info and stuff
thanks in advance

N?rnberg =! N?rburg(ring) they are ~600km apart
and most car rentals exclude driving on the n?rburgring in their policies

Plus, I bet it'd be way more fun to get a ride on the track rather than driving it. You'll go a lot faster. Note though that you probably have to have a reservation, so plan ahead.

Search around on the forum, there have been several threads about going to the ring, with lots of useful info. ;)

Yes! The BMW "Ring Taxi" as they call it. Usually an M3 or last-gen M5. I plan on going to the Ring in early 2008 and while I'm there, the Essen tuners motor-show.

//EDIT// Damn cookie720 u lucky to go before me. Your younger than me aye.. :x

Wow, how can you plan soooo much in advance?

I barely know what im gonna do in 3weeks time, yet alone 3years.

Btw, Essen motorshow is nov-dec, that's not "early" 2008. ;)

lol pdanev

Well 2008 is my first year out of school and when I said "early 2008" I meant April/Easter which is when I thought the motorshow was :?

So late 2008 it is...is cold at that time of year? Oh wait, silly question!

and did anyone of the guys who asked info actually went there?

and i'll be going to essen motor show next year
i know a few guys who went this year on the last day, and parts were -70%

I'd love to go on a trip like that, but alas, I won't be able to for a while. However, the site andy posted, is probably one of the best for information about the nurburgring.

Wouldn't it be cooler to visit Frankfurt motorshow. Far more new cars and a lot bigger. But i guess Essen is more tuner orriented, so if it is tuning you are in to...

Just a note for your preparation: the Essen Motor show always is at the very end of November / very beginning of December, and going to the ring in January or February usually doesn't make sense because it is closed from December to February for public use!

Its actually always a current generation M5. Part of the marketing budget.

Congrats Cookie! Bring a camera and take lots of pictures so we can live through them until we can get their in person. Thats awesome.

Most has been said before, so I'm not going to say it all again.
And be very carefull with Nurnberg and N?rburg, they are quite far from eachoter. You wouldn't be the first foreigner who makes that mistake. If you need to take a plane, go to Frankfurt. It's the closest big airport IIRC.

It's all been discussed
here before, so I'd advice you to read this through.

If you still have questions I'd be happy to answer them (I've already been there a couple of times before).

The site ( http://www.nurburgring.org.uk/ ) is absolutely the best place for information. There's also a list of rental companys which "allow" you to drive their rentals at the Ring (be sure you don't tell them this).

Also, keep in mind that the Ring is a one way public toll-road, and therefore you need to have a driving licence that is accepted in Germany and you have to be 18!!!

Oh and just for the info, the N?rburgring consists of 2 parts. The northern loop is the famous Nordschleife and the south circuit is the S?dschleife (GP-circuit). The one you will be able to drive on, is the Nordschleife.

The dates it's open for Tourist drives can be found here . You can set the language to English, so you'll understand all of it.

And again, have fun, but be very carefull.

Koln/Bonn Airport is closer I believe, but Frankfurt is the more international(continent wise) one.

Jup, I think so too, but all the people I know that came from oversees (US) landed in Frankfurth. But I'm not too sure about all of this. And it's still better than when he arrives at Nurnberg :D

wel my bro isnt so sure he can come now, but i know i will be in poland, so i have to get there from warsaw or something to koln/bonn or frankfurt, or maybe even drive.
