Ownership Verified: Meet Luigi DeVito! That's right, another MX-5! Sorry.

So, I went to I.L. Motorsport and grabbed a few things. Firstly, the seal around the window is new. It was falling off since it was removed and then re-installed, so a new one was required:

Second I got the clips and re-installed the little plastic things that are attached to the bonnet but sit behind the pop-up lights:

I saw the condition of the air filter so grabbed a cleanable one that also adds a bit of intake noise: https://ilmotorsport.de/shop/articl...39&PHPSESSID=ae6a920ac3d666ec42d6cd1153cf3c22

Then I also grabbed, but have not yet installed, the plastic cover that goes underneath the engine. I will drop the AC condenser out and put this on when I get time. It should help with the cooling around the Nürburgring!

I am spoiling him a bit... But damn does it deserve it!!!

There's also one bit missing in front of the pop up headlights. I think it's the left-hand one. When you pop the lights up and look down between the lens and the front bumper, you'll see one side has a plastic piece, the other one doesn't.

It's a rubber piece - I will grab it when I do some junkyard robbing at some point in the U.K.

In other news, the last pics arrived of the lap:

So, we did a trip to Frankfurt and back - I was alone on the trip home and decided to have a play in the eifel and do a lap on the 'ring:

Found myself in this vid at around 08:58 https://youtu.be/-xZQS0pyKMI?t=538

Additionally, I had a bit of a "moment":

A late decision to not cut the curb, combined with lift off oversteer.

Nicely held.

Annoying that they only filmed the boring BMWs and not the bright green Mazda...

The inner tie rods were not replaced during the suspension work and I still had some weird steering issues, so I headed to I.L. Motorsport and grabbed some new ones, with the plan of installing them at the Ringmeet campsite and finding a place to do an alignment.

Fortunately I managed to find a place 2 minutes from the Ringmeet campsite who had time to replace them on Thursday! Awesome! - They charged me around €150 for the replacement plus alignment, which I thought was quite reasonable - And with only about a days notice that I was coming.

That was all sorted, and the steering was much improved!

But I must say, what an awesome weekend! The car did 12 laps and handled it like a champ! I managed a 9m 43s lap on the last lap of the day with ninjacoco and Fluffy Bunny, Eater of Souls

I have decided not to buy any pictures of the weekend myself, simply because I have some already and I did not find any of the ones I found particularly special. Hopefully some of the passengers will be interested in ones of them and can post them up ;)

So here is a picture just after finishing the last lap of Ringmeet (I think I did the last lap of the group too) with Fluffy Bunny sitting on the bonnet:

I made it onto a few videos:
https://youtu.be/WB8j-rLFVFA?t=18 at 18 seconds and in the same video at https://youtu.be/WB8j-rLFVFA?t=198 3m 19 seconds!

And in this video at 44 Seconds: https://youtu.be/cmRIDGi3Klk?t=44

So, a few things to work on and do before TÜV (Due this month):

Replace the stupid cam-sensor o-ring ... (Already ordered)

Fix up the horn so it works for the TÜV man (I will just tape it in and cable it... it should fool them...)

The car starts getting warm by the top of Hohe Acht and if I am driving very hard for the whole lap it stays warm for the whole track after that, I can keep the temps down by turning on the heater though. I guess the condenser in front of the radiator is blocking the airflow a bit, additionally I need the re-route kit for the cooling. I also have the under-engine cover which should force more air everywhere.

The stupid seal around the windscreen came off, again. I need to find out if I am installing it wrong - Or, if it's something else...

All in all, I am extremely happy with the car, I really had the opportunity to bond with it again and throw it through some corners at Ludicrous Speed! Thankyou to Nicjasno for really making this possible!!!

Loved driving Luigi. My offer stands, if you ever get bored with the car, I will buy it and ship it back to the US.
