Just for fun, what are your memorable movie cars? They might be the hero-car or not, maybe it was a car you owned that you spotted on the silver screen, or maybe it just did something really cool in the movie that stuck with you.
Movie:
Year, Make, and Model:
Optional: Why you like it or why it sticks with you.

Dante's Peak (1997)
1987 Chevrolet Suburban
C'mon, this thing rocks. Harry built this 10 year old beast for science and it literally takes on an erupting volcano. It takes a pool of molten rock to make it stop, it's the Terminator of trucks - especially when you consider to saved Linda Hamilton.

Just the thing for when your Lotus's anti-theft alarm has blown up your enemies, and itself.

From the 78 movie, Corvette Summer, the 73 Corvette that was customized to the max. Love the wheels.

The car is over the top to say the least, but it made an impression on me as a kid. I also like the turbo style wheels before I ever seen the movie.

I also like the bad guy's 71 Firebird. Forward facing twin scoop hood with the shaker too!

Movie: Fargo
Year, Make, and Model: 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera
Optional: Why you like it or why it sticks with you: This was the same as my first car, other than slightly different wheels, and the brown color of mine was slightly more metallic gold than this sort of "dirty Band Aid" color.

Movie: Christine
Year, Make, and Model: 1958 Plymouth Fury
Optional: Why you like it or why it sticks with you: This was the first movie car I saw that stood out to me as a character, and not just part of the movie's setting.

The hood is not symmetrical...

Back to the Future, 1985

1985 Toyota pickup, this is the truck that Marty McFly won. I love this truck, would love to build a replica.
I don't like pickups, I hate brodozers but for some reason I want this.
Here's mine:
Movie: The Wraith (1986)
Year, Make, and Model: 1981(!) Dodge M4S Turbo Interceptor
Why you like it or why it sticks with you: I was a kid, just starting to get interested in cars, and this movie comes out. It looked awesome and I'd argue it still looks good today. The purple paintjob helps.

The later, it was this:
Movie: It takes two AKA My new car (1988)
Year, make and model: Replica of a Lamboghini Countach. The movie calls is a "Trovare Spear SL" , and they're upfront about it being a replica.
My young mind didn't care. I became obsessed with the Countach.

The movie is hilariously bad. Grab a drink and watch it.

The timecoded part is what hooked me: Satriani, night and popup headlights. The car also had those.

Movie: The Cannonball Run
Year, Make, and Model: 1978 Dodge Sportsman - fake Medi-Vac ambulance
Optional: Why you like it or why it sticks with you: The van used in the movie was the real van that raced in (and failed to finish) the 1979 Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash, after it was fixed. It's also a crazy 700HP van and represents the spirit of adventure and ingenuity that the Cannonball Run was (and still is) all about. The tactics used to evade police while doing very illegal speeds are fascinating.

I had a similar van on Forza Motorsport 4 that I used to race during our online races about 10 years ago, it fell over a lot but was very fast in a straight line.

Edit: What are the chances of us both posting at the same time? Countach also appears in The Cannonball Run, although it's not as iconic as the ambulance.

That fwing is ridiculous

1981 was after they stopped making the Countach and you don't see it all that much during the race, so I didn't consider it as iconic. It's the entire into so yeah fair enough it's pretty damn iconic! :p

Citation needed. Wasn't it made until it got superceded by the Diablo in 1990?
Shit I misread, it is 1990. Still far from a new car, so I would've thought it would've been in more movies before 1981.

I love it. The rear wing is famously counterproductive at speed but it looks cool, and then the thing also has front lift issues that need the dorkiest spoiler there to fix them. :ROFLMAO:

C'mon, this type of thread and there is no mention of the car from "The Matrix"? I'm disappointed...

Movie: The Matrix
Year, Make, and Model: 1965 Lincoln Continental
Just look at it, it's sinister, it has suicide doors, the setting is extremely tense, I can go on and on...
