I don't think so. The 190 E is something different than the E 270. The 190 in the 190 E doesn't say which engine is used (not 1.9 petrol), it was just the model. And the E in the E 270 says wich model, and the 270 indicates the engine (could be CDI or something else). And the E says it's a luxury sedan(think from exclusive).tloekke said:Andyhui said:btw, then why does the E 270 CDI still have the E in front of it if it means fuel injection?
I think it's like this: E (E 270) in front of the numbers means diesel, E behind the numbers means petrol (190 E).

As far as I know the E stands for economical (to me it's not economical at all; it's freakin' expensive!!) In Europe the E class is used as taxicabs, as it's probably the most reliable and economical to run in the lineup.

no, its just that 190E was another class long ago and E is a new class.

I think it's used as taxis because it is a luxurious car and the engine can do lots of miles, not because it's economical.

I think it will be economical with smallest engine, E200 with 1.8 engine which is very economical I'd say plus there are diesel models.
