Mercedes classes

There is method to their madness....but it is currently 1:45AM where I live and I'm going to bed. I'm sure "SL65AMG~V12~604BHP!!!!!!!" will be happy to fill you in when he is around. Or I'll do it in the morning. :p

A class = smallest/ cheapest
B class = Slightly bigger/ cheap
C class = 3 series equevilent
E Class = 5 Series equevilent
G Class = LR3 equevilent
M class = BMW x5 equevilent
S class = 7 series equevilent
CL = GT car, some what like a 2 door 7 series
CLK = 3 series coupe equevilent
CLS = 4 door coupe.
SLK = Z4 equevilent
SL = roadsters, lux, really big two, door hard folding roof, GT car.

Did I miss anything?
 
Actually CL and SL are very similar cars, both kinda GT and the same size although SL has better styling.
 
no... CL has 4seats and it is actually comfortable wherelese SL has 2 seats and is not so comfortable... they are in different classes.

your right except fot the G-class is not a LR3 equivalent and the CLK is bigger than a 3 series
 
The S-class and the CL are built on the same chassis; the CL is just a two-door version. The C-class and the CLK are the same, respectively, and the G-class is much bigger than an LR3/Discovery 3, which is M-class territory. It actually competes with Range Rovers and VW Cayennes (sic) in the "blingin' gangsta" class. The CLS is built on the E-class platform, and thus those two cannibalize each other's sales.
 
R-Class? :D

The G-Class is totally unique in Merc's lineup... can't be compared with any BMW SUV. Also... wouldn't BMW say that the 6 Series is to compete with the CL? I know it isn't the same size or price, but that's probably what they'd tell you. Even the old 8 Series wouldn't be in the same class as the CL.
 
Ah who cares about the categorisation of Merc models...its all some German gibberish that I can't understand + you cant keep up, what with the new models released every week!

Just enjoy em for what they are, the worlds finest automobiles :) ..................IMHO :mrgreen:

Yeh old M-Class and A-Class :( Also probly old SLK and few others but generally they are picking up in quality drastically :) ...they just need to know how to treat their customers properly!!
 
Nice, the two Mercs we've got... the old ML and SLK. :D

At lest my dad likes his X5 a whole lot more.
