That's the production model of the Vision GST Concept which was introduced in 2000, Mercedes R-Class is being built in Alabama(U.S.), using a 5.0L V8 (around 300 bhp) and the 55 version is upcoming. (or maybe they use the new NA 6.3L V8 500 bhp)

The 5.4liter engine wont appear in new cars the 6.2 will take the place. Read the corresponding thread ;)

This car is really ugly I saw one on the motorway last week :puke: :puke:
I dont really see the sense of this car anyway, there is nothing to compare it to around :? :?

The R-class is just a silly car, without competitors, and with powerful engines, I guess it has only been made for America.

BMW is planning on making a rival for it actually, but i forgot the project/model name.
 
Wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for that horrifying front end.

Time will tell if this will be a successful segment.
 
It's not really a minivan, because they already make one of those, but it's not really an SUV, because they already make one of those, and it's not a sedan because they already make one of those too.

This is another one of those weird Mercedes experiments, where they try to create a whole new kind of vehicle. Like the CLS. This thing's like, an AWD minivan MPV SUV sedan sports four-door coupe truck wagon.

But yeah, still for really fast soccer moms.
