PSI vs. BAR (boost)
Meter vs Yard (golf)
Cm vs Inch (everything)
KM vs Miles

I don't understand why americans have to be different by using miles, left hand drive, psi, inches. Why can't you follow the S.I.? Do americans use SI in education? Which is better? Can you even compare them? Cm, mm, nm are all definitely more have a smaller percentage uncertainty.

I don't think lefthand drive has anything to do with Metric or S.I. though
I don't really care for the other things like yards etc, I just use google to convert it for me :bangin:

Imperial is so outdated...I mean really, 5,280 feet in a mile? Ridiculous.

It's 'cause that's what everyone used to use. You guys switched, we tried, but never did.

And yes, I know it makes more sense. Thank god for decimal inches though. :p

1 PSI = 15 BAR
1 inch = 2.54 cm
1 mile = 1.6 kilometer

no idea how long a yard is though

A yard is 3 feet or 0.9144 meters.

Well it goes back to the good british empire days when we ruled a massive percentage of the world. Basically we invented the system and killed the most people to make it stick (yes I am over simplifying). Then Napleon came in and had a war with with a lot of europe and bought the metric sys with him. Britian beat him back (hence why we still have miles and pints) but it was too late and the metric system took hold there. Of course America wasn't involved in any of this so carried on using the Brit system. Now the modern day european union insists on metric as the standard.

Intrestingly a brit inch is slightly bigger than an american inch so I belive a brit mile is longer too.

Well, our inch has been standardized based on the metric system. 1 of our inches equals 2.54 centimeters.

Metric = very logical, standardized by nature.

Imperial = illogical (as pointed out above), no standardization.

Metic is SO the way to go....

Not sure why left-hand drive was brought up in this, but screw the right hand drive...left kicks ass

You're welcome, sonny! :wheelchair:

To steer me somewhat back on topic: Imperial has some charm because it's based on the human body, but metric is definitely the way to go.

Left-hand and right-hand drive are completely arbitrary. One had no advantage over the other.

I prefer left-hand drive because it puts your clutch foot and shifting hand on opposite sides of your body.

I prefer left-hand drive because it puts your clutch foot and shifting hand on opposite sides of your body.

I prefer right hand drive because it's o the same side of the body, so while I'm stamping down the clutch I'm shifting with the same side of my body. I also prefer right hand drive as the pedals can better placed for heel and toe cause the transmission tunnel is near the clutch.

But vipers right, it makes no difference
