front engined : engine in FRONT of front axle
mid engined : engine BETWEEN front and rear axle
rear engined : engine BEHIND rear axle

doesn't get much simpler than that...

Why do the three stooges always call rear engined cars "mid" engined? It should be obvious to those silly men that if the engine was in the middle then it would be on the front seats.

mate, seriously... is this a wind up?
