Would mean a second campsite rather than being based in just one place for four nights, wouldn't it?
^ The "Stelvio National Park Pass" is the the Gavia Pass.
Also, right at the bottom of Passo Gardena, one of my all time favorite roads, so evening runs on empty passes..!
That pass left the biggest impression on us when we did our Alps trip, you can see a part in my sig actually. A bit narrow at times, great by bike, but a bunch of cars?
MWF:
1. I live close to St. Gallen right at the border of Lake Constance, but I will be in Lugano on holidays the week before the roadtrip. I will drive off from there heading towards the Lago di Garda and then upwards to the Dolomites.
2. You need a Vignette for the Swiss Autobahns. (SFR 40, fine for not having one: SFR 200)
3. Any decision for the main camping site? (Personally I would prefer a Hotel, )
4. Will it be the first time for that van to meet any steep mountain roads? - Looking forward to the PYC thread. And the roadtrip.
If the Swiss and Austrian parts are only on the two days towards the ring, you won't need a Swiss vignette, and can skirt the short section of Austrian toll roads... Or get 10day ones for about 8?. Nauders - Prutz - F?ssen has very little toll roads, so I'd just go around them. Livigno - Nauders only has the toll tunnel... Consider Forcola and Bernina if you have the time.
:lol:and on the road at a sensible hour
