Mini Roadtrip 2016 - Il Lavoro Italiano, Aug 7-11

Yeah, that's what it says.

I'm attending alone and will be tenting.

Thanks for taking care of the reservations.

Reservation email requests sent to both campsites. 10 peoples, 8 cars and tents. Close enough for them to be flexible on the day.

Fingers crossed.

I was thinking mid afternoon. I need about 5 hours to get there via Austria or 6-7 if I go via Vr?i? and then some nice Italian mountain roads. Maybe the same we took on the 2012 trip. Now here's an idea...

I'll be starting from Nova Gorica, maybe we could get together somewhere on the way.

You could drive up to ?aga via Kobarid and Tolmin. I hope you can keep up, though. :p

Plan is to arrive at around 16h, if that's not too early. Means I have to leave at around 9am, although with the kind of driving I plan on doing, I don't trust that travel time estimate at all. :p

I think if people aim to arrive from 4pm onwards that should work. I imagine with our route we should be getting there around 5.

Colfosco have replied. They don't accept reservations but they don't anticipate a problem accommodating us.

Austrian site is fully booked. Anyone else fancy exploring other options? I have Junior with me until lunchtime on Sunday and we have a pretty packed schedule.

I've sent emails to some camps nearby.
Let's see what they'll answer.

Ice, I'll let you know, we are now considering another way (Pordenone and then up to the alps).

Got 2 responses so far.
I hope I asked for correct night (from August 10 to 11).
First one is from http://www.camping-arlberg.at/.
They can offer us space, price is 20,20? per night (Car + tent + person). No need to book.

Second one is http://www.camping-riffler.at/Camping_Riffler/Wir_engl.html.
The would prefer if we book and the price here is 14? per person (since we are a group).

First one is about 35 km from Prutz, second one about 15 km away. Both are accesible without the use of the tunnel in case someone won't be buying a vignette.

Let me know which one you prefer so I can confirm to them.

Those are both fine, although I was kinda hoping we could find something along the 188. Great road, scenery and there's quite a few lakes there.

A bit of a detour though. And expensive. But a great loop indeed if you have to drive it. :)

What progress on a campsite in Austria? I believe D-Fence was also looking into options...

I got one more option.
We can get a hut. No camping here.
Location is also on route (I am using routes made by DaBoom).
http://www.sportcamptirol.com/#!klaus-hut/c19kj
The price is 21? per person per night including the bedding, if we choose to sleep in our sleeping bags, we get 3 ? discount.
They have 2 huts, one for 14 ppl and one for 10. I would book the one for 14, just in case.

Otherwise, no progress, since the response was weak.

Let me know which one most of you prefer, and I can book it.

None of them will do reservations, so we can only go from campsite to campsite and see if they have room.
