Guys, my friend is looking for a remixer program for the PC. He doesn't want a mixer, just a program.. any professional apps for that out there that you know of? thanks in advance.

Sony's ACID line maybe :)

thanks guys.. keep em coming

ACID Pro 4.0, Fruity Loops 3, Cool Edit Pro 2.1..... my brother uses these to edit and make his own music.

thanks guys.. will try the acid one

Acid is good and pretty easy to learn for audio looping and mixing existing audio files, though it's very limited when it comes to composing music. Sonar and Cubase/Nuendo are more 'professional' apps that may be harder to use that will let you do both audio mixing and composing.

If your friend's gonna start programming sounds and music from scratch, he could check out project5, fruityloops or reason though. Some producers/remixers make loops and bits in reason/fruity/trackers and import them into apps like Acid. I'm not sure what you mean by remixing though (a remix is essentially a new song using samples/hooks/ideas from an existing one).

^ exactly.. will check out those programs you mentioned, thanks alot

so guys any famous forums for DJ gatherings and newbs to learn from? cause my cousin is having a hard time with Sonar, he says its hard.

Yeah, Adobe bought CoolEdit Pro and called it Audition. Great program and easier than Sonar, but has all the multi-track mixing features.

For just creating loops and beats, try Fruity Loops, it's simple to use and fun.

oo thanks.. ^_^
