After having to cancel last year to due to this pesky plague, let's just regroup and go next year!

Will those dates work? I could move it later in the month but no earlier due to grad school.

I've got the dates on my calendar!

Just bought a winch, so the Lexus is coming closer to being prepped.

Got it on the calendar, I will arrange something with work since I'm supposed to be the back-up on-call therapist that week.

Aaaaand it's my brother's wedding celebration (that was also postponed due to Covid) on the 22nd lol. Not sure how to make all that work. Granted, it's tough to say what the pandemic situation will be like then anyway. Maybe we could fly out of SLC and then fly back to finish our trip home.

Edit: LOL the border may not even be open in May.

Oh damn. I don't know how I could make this one, though, or if it'll be possible at this rate. Lemons' Texas Rally is at the very start of May and the Gambler 500 Big Bend/Mexico that I really, really want to do ends on the 16th. Gah, I wish, though. I need to make it back up to Utah, and finally doing Moab would be a blast. IDK if plane travel's going to happen for me that early. Seems like absolutely everything job and/or pandemic wise is dragging ass as slowly and painfully as possible here. Being able to do anything fun is all hanging on me finally getting a job, and L O L, we all know how THAT'S been going for the past 2.5 years. Ugh. I've given up all hope on that front.

I have no vehicle for this unless someone wants me to bork a press truck. LOL.

Righty-o. I'm just pinging this thread since we're officially in Fool's Spring/Second Winter in Utah. Weather's been teasing us like crazy (it's so funny... it'll be like 50F for a week, and BAM ... 30F + heavy snowfall the next).

If we're still shooting for May 17th, it's about 80 days away. A lot can change until then, but things are looking up.

For those interested in camping, we heard a lot of the campgrounds down in Southern Utah are filling up for the season already, so if you're interested in that, best to reserve soon. For example, I think Goose Island is like already reserved for all of May.

Otherwise, it's allllmooooost here!

I just requested the time off and we got our hotel booked.

Dogs aren't allowed in the National Parks, since our dogs will be joining us, I'd like to set some days to do Arches and Canyonlands if that's something everyone wants to do. This way we can reserve some daycare time for the pups.

Yup, getting excited!

Also, not trying to plan the fuck out of this or anything, but just food for thought. If we wanted to do Elephant Hill and such, we'll just need to get some day use permits 24H ahead of time. (1 permit allows 3 trucks and 10 people).

I'm not sure if the lottery system is back, but I need to read up.

Not sayin' Elephant Hill is a must, just throwing it out there.

Here are some quick pics from the 2017 season.
