Recently Windows Media Player has been taking aaaages to open any kind of video file. Could this be to do with having to many random codes installed?

If so, how do I get rid of all the ones i've installed with packs?

Cheers

Chris

You can download the VLC player from www.videolan.org/vlc , and uninstall your codec packs. :) Or uninstall the codec pack first then install the VLC. :)

I've got this VLC player now.... Seems to have some problems with .wmv files though (first and second series of top gear). They play fine in windows media player too (apart from taking ages to open).
