FCHV stands for, predictably, fuel cell hybrid vehicle. Based on the Tanto compact MPV currently in production, this prototype adds a hydrogen tank and electric motors.

Daihatsu says that it has a longer cruising distance between fill-ups than earlier prototypes and that although the hydrogen tank is larger and takes up more space, it can still seat four people comfortably.

The FCHV also shows off LED headlights, which save power, and new instruments such as an energy indicator.
Nice to see the LED headlights finally appearing more often in concepts, its a good step forward in terms of conserving energy and improving visibility.
