motorbikes on TG?

well back in the daysn they'd also test a morotbike or two oon the show... actually there was one presenter who ONLY did old motorbikes (but that was kindof dull...). However, I'd like some motorbikes back in the show, imagine Stig in a Porche Carrera GT Vs. "motorStig" in a Ducatti 996 on the Top Gear race track... wouldn't that be cool?
 
There has been a race on the track with I believe a Porsche 911 and a motorbike.
It was on TG or either FG, don't know who finished first but it was an exciting race
 
'Head to Head' was aired here last week ;-)

This week it's 'At Full Throttle'. New one for me :lol:

That test was rigged though. The bike was forced to take the worst lines through the corners and even though the bike was only a car length behind for the final straight the 911 pulled away?!? :no:


Back on topic: I would kill to see the Top Gear boys testing bikes.
 
^ I don't know who was riding the CBR, but they certainly weren't dragging knee - plus they briefly had Clarkson on the 1000cc bike, but they switched to the 600cc for the test.

I cant really see May being one to test a sports bike... Just compare how they dressed and what bikes they rode when rocking up for the ScooterMan segment...

Bikes are boring?!?

Jeremy doesn't dislike them because they are boring - he dislikes them because he thinks they are scary and because he doesn't like the image.
 
Yes to motorbikes on TG, pleeeeeeeeease. I vaguely remember hearing JM say he'd like to have bikes on the show but JC and AW were against so it wasn't going to happen anytime soon.

That was from the Pulp interview on your site I think ;)

I think the closest thing to reviewing bikes on top gear will be stuff like Westfields with Hayabusa engines.. I'm with Jeremy here.. I think bikes would be too different, very different audience.
Now, how about a Top Gear styled show but for bikes only? ;)
 
Hmmmmm, not the pulp interview. I'm racking my brains out trying to figure out where it's from and I keep coming back to the same answer, has to be something to do with Thundersprint. I can't even remember if I heard it with my own ears or if I read it on the website. Got the memory of a goldfish you see :cry:

As I already stated in another thread -> it would be great!

I mean, 3 bikes per season would be sufficient... Bikes have a "Top Gear" as well, you know ;-)

AFAICR, Jezza disliked bikes be cause he can't sit properly on them, because of his stomach ;-)

May I draw your attention to the yamaha XJR1300 James is riding in these photos (which is his own) ain't no namby pamby bike AND he used to have a Ducati 748 :) I'm sure he'd be able to test a sports bike no worries ;) And as for what they're wearing - what's wrong with that??? You don't have to look like a Power Ranger to ride a bike. :lol:

I'd love to see bikes on TG, but Jezza is dead set against em :| That said - I heard Jezza bought his missus a Ducati and I read recently Hammond bought his wife a Harley.

Shame really I'd pay money to see Jezza doing his CBT
