IMO Motorvision is one of the better car shows on German TV. Not nearly as good or entertaining as TG, but alright. They do their "tracktest" with a different car in every episode, where they measure acceleration, braking distance, etc. and then they throw the car around a very tight and twisty track. A lap only takes ~20 seconds and in contrast to the TG track heavy cars stand no chance of topping the list, no matter how much power they got.
That's one of the best parts of the show! And BTW, they have been doing this for years, way before TG and always (!) in the dry.

If anybody is interested, at the bottom of this page is the current board:

Motorvision used to have a video archive on their hp where you could browse all their "Tracktests" as well as some of their road tests, comparisons, etc. I can't seem to find it unfortunately, looks like it's gone. Maybe some of the other German members could try and search for it too!

I think the tracktests would be interesting for all members, despite the German commentary. (you can still see the times, acceleration and braking numbers, moose test, etc.)

I actually wanted to rip most of that stuff, but I didn't find a simple encoding procedure except mpeg virtualdub and that makes the vid and audio async...
I remember a site where they had direct links to all their test, but I can't seem to find that now...

Im suprised an Evo VII is faster than an Evo VIII. Obviously it will depend which models they were.
Always nice to see Lotus at the top.

IIRC the Evo VIII was the first one to be officialy sold by Mitsubishi Germany and they had to detune the engine or something to pass the emission tests. AFAIK the Evo VIII is also heavier then the VII, so I guess this adds to that.

Here are a couple of tracktests I managed to find, just so you can get an idea how tight the track is:

Sorry for breaking the H-Scroll, but somehow hotlinking the vids doesn't work. Copying the links and pasting them into the adress bar of the browser works fine though...
