TBH, the car performed a clean round trip cross country and back without problems, and looked so nice to the buyer he wanted it for himself. It's not a bad car, and on a road trip it's a capable and spacious. And it's not so 100% perfect you wouldn't dare use it.

I just got a call from the car's original owner, the lady who ran a service station in southwest Finland when the car was new. They had bought it originally as their premises also had the Mitsubishi representation, and when her husband had passed away in '91 she continued to drive the car until the late '90s. She had read the above article, and asked about how the car's doing. I confessed I had sold the car by now, but directed her to the current owner.
