My go with my shitty video camera's photo mode *sigh*

Sadly, my point and shoot's image sensor died a while ago, so I've forgotten about Photography. Despite the amount of noise and crap that it produces, I decided to take some shots of my car, tried to be as interesting and creative as possible, as much as the lens ruins all creativity... The camera loves to screw up colour and the look of reality in general, so I've tried to adjust then as much as possible. Suffice to say, I've gotta buy a proper camera!

The car was a bit dirty, but JPEG compression hides that

I think they have a nice effect by which it looks like the photos were taken when the car was new, and are just aged a bit.

I like the way several of them are framed, especially sixth from bottom, but you seriously need a better camera. There's a slight blurriness that lets you down.

Quite a lot are taken on the side of the road or on grass, it might be better to find an industrial backdrop or a quiet road you can shoot with the car on the actual road, as is a lot of the shots sort of feel like the car is abandoned, or parked, and hence a coincidental shoot rather than a deliberate one.

A lot are a touch over exposed, PP may be able to fix (although only slightly as you are shooting JPEG) if you lose a bit of brightness, increase the contrast slightly, maybe add an S curve in photoshop or whatever program you are using, and perhaps a touch more (or less) saturation - depending on the effect you are after.

I think doing some pp in photoshop with the colours helps to bring out the photos (but as you say, the camera quality isn't great).

Th quality (JPEG) is terrible. There's no point even importing that into photoshop. I think you'd be amayed how much better a good camera would make your photography...

The industrial backdrop is a really good idea - I don't know why I didn't think of it. The whole photoshot was pretty spur of the moment, that said. I tried to get the photos looking as close to what the day did, but like I said the camera messes up the colour quite a bit!

@THE REAL STIG Mmmmm. I got to use a proper DSLR back in High School and I was surprised with the difference. Being that I'm using a photo mode on a video camera, the lens is rather odd to use.
